The Houthi group claimed on Wednesday to have shot down a US drone in central Yemen, Anadolu reports.
Military spokesman Yahya Saree said a US MQ-9 drone was intercepted “while carrying out hostile missions” over Marib province.
He said the drone was shot down by “a domestically made surface-to-air missile.”
The spokesman said the drone was the second to have been downed in 72 hours and the 14th since last year.
There was no immediate US comment on the Houthi claim.
On Saturday, the Houthi group said it shot down a US MQ-9 drone over Al-Bayda province in central Yemen.
The Houthis have targeted Israeli cargo ships or those associated with Tel Aviv in the Red Sea with missiles and drones in a show of support with the Gaza Strip, where over 45,500 people have been killed in Israel’s genocidal war since Oct. 7, 2023.
Since early 2024, a US-led coalition has been conducting airstrikes that it said are targeting Houthi locations in parts of Yemen in retaliation for the Houthi attacks on shipping in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The counterattacks have been occasionally met with retaliation from the group.

Ahmadiyya Muslim community lead annual New Year street clean
Story by Lynn Rusk • Members of the Ahmadiyya Muslim community collected hundreds of bags of litter in towns and cities across the UK as part of an annual New Year clean-up.
More than 1,700 people took part in the event organised by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Youth Association (AMYA), in major UK cities including London, Glasgow, Liverpool and Manchester.
The organisation hosts several community service projects throughout the year, including tree planting, fundraising, blood donations and street cleaning.mam Adeel Shah, who led the community litter pick in east Hampshire, said a number of non-Muslims also joined in.
“It’s not only limited to just members of the Ahmadiyya community,” Imam Shah told the PA news agency.
“If the general public, if the locals, want to join as well, they’re more than welcome to.”
Neil Young pulls out of Glastonbury over BBC involvement
Story by Anita Singh
Neil Young has pulled out of Glastonbury in protest at the BBC exerting “corporate control” over the now excessively Woke festival.
The veteran singer said he had been booked to play the festival this summer with his new band, The Chrome Hearts, but suggested that the BBC had imposed rules that were not to his liking. He wrote in an open letter on his website: “The Chrome Hearts and I were looking forward to playing Glastonbury, one of my all time favourite outdoor gigs. We were told that the BBC was now a partner in Glastonbury and wanted us to do a lot of things in a way we were not interested in.
“It seems Glastonbury is now under corporate control and is not the way we remember it being. Thanks for coming to see us the last time! He wrote in an open letter on his website:
“We will not be playing Glastonbury on this tour because it is a corporate turn-off, and not for me like it used to be. Hope to see you at one of the other venues on the tour. Love Neil. Be well.”
The BBC and Glastonbury Festival have been approached for comment. The festival has not published its 2025 line-up or confirmed Young’s involvement. In his statement, Young did not give details of the BBC requirements that had irked him, but said the BBC had an appalling record of propaganda and control
The festival has partnered with the BBC since 1997. Emily Eavis, who runs the music event with her father, Michael, from Worthy Farm in Somerset, has praised the corporation’s live coverage as “an integral part of what we now do at Glastonbury”.
Orwell News Network. CIA-Mossad-KGB shooting down their own drones & blaming it on the hoax terror org ‘houthis’. Morons still can’t figure they they’re living in a ‘pretend world like Truman Show’ as Nico says.
Well – downed???? As for building drones the JUSA has two options: Parts and technology (due to internal shut down of national production) from the Shyneese or from the kosher ones which has its own price of kosherness. Than there is gravity and all eventually comes down by itself. And “Houthis” say whatever is printed for the rest of the world.
“Each Reaper drone costs about 32 million dollars.” Wow! And I thought Standard Fireworks were expensive!!!😢
