Sweden on Monday began sending some five million pamphlets to residents urging them to prepare for the possibility of war, as neighbouring Finland launched a new preparedness website.
Both Sweden and Finland dropped decades of military non-alignment to join the US-led military alliance NATO in the wake of Russia’s 2022 invasion of Ukraine.
Since the start of the war, Stockholm has repeatedly urged Swedes to prepare both mentally and logistically for the possibility of war, citing the serious security situation in its vicinity.
The booklet “If Crisis or War Comes”, sent by the Swedish Civil Contingencies Agency (MSB), contains information about how to prepare for emergencies such as war, natural disasters, or cyber attacks.
It is an updated version of a pamphlet that Sweden has issued five times since World War II.
The previous version sent out in 2018 made headlines, as it was the first time it had been sent to Swedes since 1961 at the height of the Cold War.
“The security situation is serious and we all need to strengthen our resilience to face various crises and ultimately war,” MSB director Mikael Frisell said in a statement.
The 32-page document outlines with simple illustrations the threats facing the Nordic nation, including military conflict, natural disasters, and cyber and terror attacks.
It includes tips for preparedness, such as keeping non-perishable food in stock and storing water.
MSB said the updated 2024 version had a stronger focus on preparation for war.
Over the next two weeks 5.2 million copies will be sent to Swedish households.
The brochure is available in print in both Swedish and English and digital versions are available in several other languages — including Arabic, Farsi, Ukrainian, Polish, Somali and Finnish.
Sweden’s former army chief Micael Byden alarmed many of his compatriots in January when he urged them to consider their own preparedness.
“Swedes have to mentally prepare for war,” he said.
Also on Monday, the government in Finland, which shares a 1,340-kilometre (830-mile) border with Russia, launched a website gathering information on preparedness for different crises.

But don’t worry , these actors in Finland & Sweden have been replaced by more of the same, both countries now have ministers from the ludicrously named ‘nationalist’ or far right parties in govt. These placeniks far from defending their nations, upholding powerful neutrality which would make both countries safer, richer and more respected internationally, are slavish enthusiasts for American occupation. Moreover, they obey EU edicts completely despite some cosmetic appearances and approve of quota mass immigration, again despite some murmurings or symbolic tinkering . This is consensus politics for you, tyranny of conformity of Those In Power.
Past few days; after the legacy media has exhausted itself on ravings about the second coming of T.Rump and remained significantly silent about the daily mass murder of civilians in the Middle East by the region’s only devilocracy armed by NATO; we get a change in the song-sheet. Ukraine and the Russian Threat are back in focus after weeks of neglect. Biden’s green light for the US, Britain and France to allow their mercenaries to launch long range missiles on behalf of Zelensky deep into Russia is all part of this shift. Those in Washington are determined to escalate the war before they leave office in January, plenty of time to wreak havoc or set the stage for the next drama. After all as experts point out, we’ve pushed Russia so far so why not even further in our game of chicken? These long range missiles sound a lot like Hitler’s much famed secret weapons that would turn the war around, yes they kill a lot more people for a bit longer but….
This is where Finland & Sweden fit in so nicely after abandoning their wicked insanity of neutrality and allowing NATO right up to the Finnish border just kilometres away from Petersburg. If there is some stalemate in Ukraine, an armed standoff whereby Putin accepts some crooked deal from Trump for the sake of peace or if NATO troops and Russian troops directly battle each other ( Byelorus would be a likely theatre) and Europe implodes it matters not, it’s seen as win-win by US war machine. A win because there will be more of the same to follow but elsewhere. Finland will become the next ignition point, its long border with Russia a rich seam for provocation and incidents, enormous numbers of NATO troops to be installed plus shiny new nukes (against the Finnish constitution but as the new US ‘educated’ president Stubb remarked, we can change that!) Hence all these war mongering preparations in Sweden & Finland, conditioning their population to accept the inevitable: we must destroy Russia with NATO.
But consider this. Prior to joining NATO there were no border disputes between Russia & Finland, but we need to change that too…The border was basically de-militarized since the collapse of the USSR with light defences both sides and border guards, heavy equipment was kept well back. Relations were more cordial than ever, tourism, trade and plenty of cheap energy . Cue Obama’s overthrow of the govt in Kiev in 2014 and the eruption of war in Ukraine 2014 to now. Finnish politicians began to be seduced that the only way was NATOway, the people and the military remained sceptical however. But coalition consensus tyranny ensured that these reservations and scepticism could be blown away with the media and experts in full throat about NATO is our protection and salvation, end. Similar events are duplicated in Sweden, hence a critical or rather, uncritical mass by the media and Those In Power.
But consider this: neither Sweden nor Finland allowed their people to have a vote on NATO membership despite repeated promises in the past. The reason? Those In Power knew full well that despite their ceaseless propaganda, captive media indoctrination, fielding of ‘experts’ war hysteria that the ‘wrong’ answer would have been delivered in both countries and by a clear margin. Stoltenburg at NATO and Biden in Washington could not risk this as the NATO momentum would have been halted, hence pressure on Those In Power to take charge and get parliament to rubber stamp NATO annexation. The people were never allowed to choose the national destiny in either country, but it is they who must prepare to die evidently.

One of the most significant times that impacted horrendously on farmers was the ‘Foot and Mouth’ outbreak when most livestock was killed. All of those policies were based on computer modelling and therefore so many healthy animals destroyed that didn’t need to be including rare breeds nurtured by farmers for generations. This would have signalled to farmers that they couldn’t turn their backs and would never have autonomy or be in control of their livelihoods whilst there is a threat of history repeating itself.

So long as Russia has thirty to forty-odd nukes, one each for NATO members’ capital city, they’ll be wary, especially if the world survives until Jan 20th and Trump begins pulling the US out of Ukraine. They’ll have to ask themselves, “Ooo-er! What else have we been lippy about now the US won’t be there for us?”
