During the height of the COVID-19 tyranny, New York City became ground zero for stay-at-home orders, lockdowns, mask mandates and eventually vaccine passport segregation. These totalitarian edicts were issued by Dr. Jay Varma, senior advisor for public health, who operated directly under Mayor Bill de Blasio from April 2020 to May 2021.
Dr. Varma was the guy behind the rollout of fraudulent diagnostic testing and subsequent contact tracing that perpetuated hysteria and lockdowns for years. Varma was the lockdown architect who determined which businesses were essential, and which ones were deprived of their due process rights. He shut down large gatherings and discriminated against churches, violating the First Amendment. He harmed schoolchildren by force-masking them, locking them out of schools and subjecting them to germ theory hysteria, complete with non-evidence-based quarantines of healthy children and the vapid abuse of their minds.

While he was destroying law and order, abusing children, and threatening civil liberties at every turn, Dr. Jay Varma secretly attended large underground dance gatherings and did drugs at sex parties. In fact, he was caught on tape bragging about doing illicit drugs while everyone else was subject to a lockdown police state in NYC.
The undercover video footage was released by podcaster Steven Crowder. The footage shows Varma bragging about attending multiple private sex parties, some involving drug use, and a dance party with over 200 people – all while urging New Yorkers to stay home and avoid social interaction.
He admitted on tape that he and his wife held multiple private sex parties during the lockdowns, including one in August 2020 in a hotel room. The sex party included at least ten people, who all took MDMA, a psychoactive drug known as Ecstacy or Molly. “We were all rolling, we were all taking Molly, and everybody’s high,” Varma is heard saying in the video. “And I was happy because I hadn’t done that in like a year and a half.”
In June 2021, right before the enactment of unlawful vaccine mandates, Varma also admitted to attending a dance party under a Wall Street bank that included at least 200 attendees.
Arrogant public health officials have yet to be held accountable
City Council Member Robert Holden called for an investigation into Varma’s actions, highlighting the hypocrisy of someone who imposed restrictions while disregarding them himself. Holden further called on the city to drop appeals against unvaccinated workers who lost their jobs due to vaccine mandates.
“The doctor who designed New York City’s COVID-19 restrictions completely ignored his own rules,” said Mary Holland, CEO of Children’s Health Defense. “This is a shocking revelation that follows a pattern of hypocrisy among other lockdown architects, including Fauci, Pelosi, Newsom, and Johnson and Ferguson in the U.K.”
“These so-called leaders induced fear in the public while imposing oppressive measures, but they themselves didn’t seem to fear COVID,” Holland continued. “The public needs to be more critical of authority figures, especially in public health, and consider their actions when making future decisions.”
Since being exposed, Varma has defended his actions, claiming the videos were taken out of context. He stands by his efforts to get New Yorkers vaccinated and rejects “right wing” attempts to undermine public health efforts. After destroying NYC, Varma became director of the Cornell Center for Pandemic Prevention and Response at Weill Cornell Medical College. Today, he sits as the executive vice president and chief medical officer at the pharmaceutical company SIGA Technologies.
The City Council’s Common Sense Caucus is scheduled to hold a press conference on Monday, September 23rd, to address the situation. It remains to be seen if further investigations will be undertaken and how the city will move forward in light of these revelations. Not only do these revelations shine a light on the hypocrisy of lockdown policies, but they also reveal the arrogance of unaccountable public health officials who abused power, destroyed medical ethics, and eroded the public’s trust in government.
