A 61-year-old man in the UK was jailed for 18 months for chanting “who the fuck is Allah” and telling police officers “you’re not English anymore” during a protest outside Downing Street.
Yes really.
The sentence handed out to David Spring is the latest shocking example of how low the bar has now been set in terms of free speech in response to rioting that occurred after the murder of three girls in Southport last month.
Spring attended a demonstration of around 700 people in London on July 31 which turned disorderly.
Police bodycam footage that was played in court showed Spring calling police officers “cunts,” making “hostile gestures” and joining in with chants of “who the fuck is Allah” and “you’re not English anymore.”
While Spring’s behavior could be described as offensive and unruly, the fact that he will spent the next year and a half behind bars for saying mean words exemplifies how the UK has slipped into extreme authoritarianism in the space of just two weeks.

When he was arrested, Spring told police, “I didn’t go up to London to riot. I went to complain about people put up in hotels,” referring to illegal immigrants staying in hotels at taxpayer expense.
Defending lawyer Piers Kiss-Wilson said, “The defendant asked me to put forward his apologies to the court and he says he is embarrassed by his behaviour and he is ashamed by it.”
“He also wants to apologise to his family and friends and his wife who don’t deserve this.”
The man’s wife, who suffers from ill health, will now be deprived of her primary carer thanks to Spring’s imprisonment.

The question once again arises as to why these individuals are continuing to plead guilty despite the fact that it is not preventing them from being handed jail time.
Despite the fact that the legislation surrounding hate speech and incitement is more draconian in the UK than in numerous other major western countries, one would think a good free speech lawyer would be able to defend these people more adeptly.
As we highlighted yesterday, Spring’s sentence is only outdone in its absurdity by cases where online speech of people who never even attended riots is leading to prison sentences.
Another man was imprisoned for 2 months merely for posting the words “coming to a town near you” alongside images of Muslim men on Facebook.

This is a political judgement in more ways than one. If anyone was keeping me awake at night shouting in the street being drunk etc., his “crime” would surely be disturbing the peace. Whether he insulted Allah or his girlfriend would be of no consequence to me. But his “crime” was less than what many residents on routes home from pubs or close to football grounds have to put up with anyway. Are the police going to arrest tens of thousands chanting, “The referees a wanker”?
At what level of annoyance or unruliness becomes a “crime” is moot. I mean we can all live with some swearing and the very very occasional 2 or 3am call from the street of “you don’t love me anymore…wahahh” or even “fuck Allah” can’t we? Isn’t the very measure of a “tolerant society” the latitude we extend to others? (Having said that I’m all in favour of killing people who habitually drop litter…)
The less obvious motivation for even a jail sentence in the featured article IMO is to start stoking the fires of the anthesis to the current government. We will see Trump elected soon. In the UK we’ll see the rise of Farage aided by the support of the pub goers who don’t recognise how the media creates “anti-heroes” in order to become their heroes. The Farage balloon is going to be blown up and flown, but when it’s time for the Tweedledee Tories to replace the Tweedledum Labourites, it will come back down to earth again.

When your own people are being displaced in your own country by an Islamic minority of a religion which despises all non-Muslims and considers them Infidels, and who come from backward Muslim nations which openly persecute Christians, how is it an offence to say, “Who the fuck is Allah, anyway (in OUR nation)?”. Who does he think he is? The good and loving God over all, or a narrow minded, hateful and usurping god?
Watson should name the judge and the prosecuting attorney to spread the opprobrium where it is most deserved.
Yes, Starmer does have that “prissy” look about him doesn’t he?…I have no problem with homosexuals per se but their prevalence in positions of (ostensible) power — to say nothing of the obvious trannies at the top or close to power — indicates “string attached” and so obvious puppetry in action.
The hypocrisy. Mocking Christianity is to be celebrated (at the Olympics no less, contravening Rule 50 of the Olympic charter) but anything deemed offensive to Islam and you’re off to prison.
