An explosion at an armaments factory in Poland killed one and injured several, local media reported on Monday.
The explosion started a fire and killed a 59-year-old worker at the Mesko weapon factory in the Polish city of Skarżysko-Kamienna.
Another employee was hospitalised after inhaling smoke, though his condition is not life-threatening, local authorities said.
“We had an explosion at the rocket fuel centre, which was put into operation a few years ago,” said the plant’s chairwoman Elżbieta Śreniawska.
The cause of the incident is currently under investigation.
The factory — owned by the state-run Polska Grupa Zbrojeniowa — manufactures defence products, anti-tank missiles and small arms ammunition.
Poland has provided extensive military support for Ukraine, significantly increasing production for many local arms factories.
The above report omits to mention that the plant at which the explosion occurred also manufactures Piorun man-portable air defense systems, which are supplied to Ukraine.
Interestingly, the above report echoes an earlier story from Bulgaria:
Explosions at Bulgarian arms factory set to export to Ukraine
Krassen Nikolov – Euractive June 26, 2023
Ammunition warehouses of the Bulgarian arms company EMKO exploded early on Sunday near Karnobat, a few days after Bulgaria announced it would join the coalition to supply shells to Ukraine.
Is this a coincidence? Or are we witnessing a deliberate but necessarily covert campaign by Russia to undermine the Western backed war effort in Ukraine. Where Ukrainians are fighting and dying in a Western backed and directed war against Russia. Ed.

It needs to be done. It should be done. Go Russia!
One less stoopifd Polak.
The west has no idea how many Russian sympathizers are out there, as well as how many disaffected citizens there are that work at those plants, and can easily sabotage the war effort when the bosses head is turned.
It doesn’t even have to be intentional sabotage. Just an honest mistake.
And think of the motive. Sabotaging the war effort could help not get your son drafted to fight in a war to benefit the Rothschilds.
How many Pollocks does it take to blow up a weapons factory? Just asking for a friend.
