He says at dinner he sat next to the wife of Alexander Dugan and sat opposite Alexander himself and Maria Zakharova. It was probably good foresight that Larry Johnson travelled earlier to the St Petersburg Economic Forum (SPIEF) because at least he was able to get there, unlike some invited guests he was expecting to meet who weren’t able to. The forum is a meeting place for other members of BRICS to also send delegates.
Advised not to was was Judge Andrew Napolitano, a former Supreme Court Judge whose field is the US Constitution. Scott Ritter was prevented from attending: Scott is a UN Weapons inspector whose expertise is US and Russian nuclear doctrine. Larry Johnson and his colleague Ray McGovern who engage as does Scott on the Judge’s blog ‘Judging Freedom’ are former CIA.
Had they been able to meet at lunches as planned, and not just with representatives of the Russian government but with other BRICS government representatives, all it would require is a level of contact between Russian and US military officers below and perhaps up to Pentagon level, and same with both their security services, and things could change quite suddenly and effectively in the US “position”.
