When I was a child, I saw a Walt Disney film named Lambert (the sheepish lion!). It was about ewes (female sheep) about to give birth to lambs. The newborn lambs were delivered by storks which were carrying in their beaks baby lambs wrapped in sheets, or something; however, one of the storks was carrying a baby lion cub by mistake. When it was delivered to a waiting mother ewe, the stork wanted to take it back but the ewe refused to allow it to be taken from her. As the lion cub started to grow up, it was teased and tormented by the other lambs because it was different from them and it behaved awkwardly. One night, however, things were about to change drastically. While all the sheep and lambs were sleeping peacefully in their field, a wolf appeared and began to stalk Lambert’s mother; she was terrified, as were all the other sheep and lambs. She began to bleat and started to call for her son, Lambert. At first, Lambert was also terrified, but suddenly he changed from being a lamb to a full-grown lion! It was as though he had been struck by a bolt of lightning; his mother was in danger and he was going to protect her! He let out a mighty roar – and the wolf froze in its tracks. Now the wolf was the terrified one. Lambert now was the one doing the stalking and he drove the wolf off the edge of a cliff to its death! Well, that’s how the story went and Lambert from then on was a hero and liked by all the other sheep. I think the moral of this story is that it’s time for us to wake up and face the danger threatening us!👌
