Yukon Jack–there will have to be better understanding of the difference between Nature and God. In The African Queen, the boat-man protests on behalf of Nature, but the English Lady says it is something we have to strive against: even Dawkins, who is the best-known advocate for raw Nature, has the view that none of our knowledge of it tells us what we have to do. Our connection with God is from reaching back to before time and space, or never having lost that positioning. Sometimes I spend time with someone who makes you lose it, and it is like being without oxygen, health no longer possible, nor any direction discernible. Maybe some families are under an ancestral curse (Maybe? Of course they are)

What kind of special imbecile does one have to be to have “smart” internet-of-things devices in the sanctity of their homes? The combination of dangerously stupid and lazy should be an immediately fatal condition. The “smart” devices that really make me laugh / cringe are the thermostats and the, my God, electronic door locks, both of which have been proven to be quite hackable.
My girl and I have been casually house shopping lately as we are considering down-sizing from our large home that is far more space than we need. We toured a house for sale just yesterday and it had one of those wretched abomination smart thermostats mounted, which was an immediate indication the current owners are f*cking morons, so much so I inspected the closets to see if they had been defecating on the floors.
