   I read some states–I think two so far, one perhaps Kansas–are looking to issue their own state bonds and back them with gold, silver and other commodities. It does sound an attractive investment. This may be in preparation for an expected economic collapse, with still-raw lessons from the Civil War and one way the Deep South states financed it (bonds sold abroad backed by cotton, tobacco, beef etc), but it also becomes prepping for secession when the US breaks apart after what the federal government has done to the whole country. Ironically Kansas was on the side of the Union back then.
