A week ago US Secretary of State Lloyd Austin said that at least the money the US spends on weapons for Ukraine boosts the US economy, but that’s not true. If the US government is paying for those weapons out of taxes paid by US citizens it’s not an economic boost but an economic drain. Only if the money came in from abroad, such as the people using those weapons paid for them, can those costs ever be called a boost.
