Erdogan cannot be trusted. Depending on which way the political waters flow he’ll make promises he may walk away from, and even went so far as to backstab his solid ally President Putin over a prisoners release.
I don’t know Egyptian affairs well enough to know how reliable they are but they can hardly pose more risk than Erdogan. Together they could crush Israel in a pincer movement, though I don’t expect Turkey to stay its course if things get heavy, such as US threats, and such a withdrawal would be a serious betrayal of Egypt and risk the fall of its whole elite class.

Signs to date suggest that Sisi and Erdogan will agree to keep away from any real defence of Rafah, or from any place where the Palestinians are being killed off by Israel’s bombs, or by its enforced starvation conditions.
But then, Colonel Macgregor is implying strongly that the Sisi-Erdogan agreement will be a plan to intervene in Israel’s war against the Palestinians. The Colonel’s predictions have simply never been wrong.
