Nigeria bank boss killed in California helicopter crash
The chief executive of one of Nigeria’s largest banks is believed to have been killed along with his wife and son when a helicopter they were riding in crashed in Southern California’s Mojave Desert.
Herbert Wigwe, chief executive of Access Bank, and his family were among six people on board when the charter flight went down shortly after 10pm on Friday near Interstate 15, close to the California-Nevada border.
The others killed were two pilots and a fourth passenger, named as Bamofin Abimbola Ogunbanjo, former chair of NGX Group, the Nigerian stock exchange.The deaths of Mr Wigwe, his family and Mr Ogunbanjo were confirmed by Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, a former Nigerian finance minister who is now the director-general of the World Trade Organisation.’A terrible blow’ for Nigeria and Africa’s banking industryMr Wigwe, 57, was widely seen as an industry leader, having been involved in two of the country’s biggest banks, including Guaranty Trust Bank, where he was previously executive director.

Over in New York a group of up to 800 pro-Palestine protestors have stormed the Jewish Museum of Modern Art, chanting and unfurling a huge banner in support of Palestine.
This seems almost like a pogrom. You can sense things are getting heavy. Deep resentment towards Jews for Israel’s treatment of Palestinians made these things predictable but Netanyahu listens to no one.

Four new arrests in Rochdale on suspicion of rape
Story by Tara Cobham Four boys aged between 12 and 14 have been arrested on suspicion of rape in Rochdale.
Officers were called to reports a young female was raped on Kingsway in Newbold at around 6pm on Saturday.
A 12-year-old boy, a 13-year-old boy and two 14-year-old boys were subsequently arrested on suspicion of rape and remain in police custody.
rA crime scene remains in place as Greater Manchester Police continue their investigation.
Pictures show a car park has been cordoned off by officers.
Local residents have told of their shock at all the asian men raping kids their neighbourhood.
