The abortion statistics for 2023 are in, and they make for grim reading.
The Christian Post reported that abortion was the leading cause of death worldwide in 2023, topping infectious diseases and cancer.
Approximately 44.6 million babies were murdered in the womb over the course of 2023, marking the fifth consecutive year in which abortion was the world’s leading cause of death.
Other significant causes of death included infectious diseases (12.9 million), cancer (8.2 million), smoking (4.9 million), alcohol abuse (2.4 million), HIV and AIDS (1.6 million), traffic accidents (1.3 million) and suicide (over 1 million).
When added up, abortion caused more deaths than all the aforementioned factors combined.
The data was sourced from Worldometer, a real-time statistics provider, which makes the distinction between induced abortions and natural abortions, known as miscarriages.
“The data on abortions displayed on the Worldometer’s counter is based on the latest estimates on worldwide abortions published by various sources, including the World Health Organization,” the organization noted.
“According to WHO, every year in the world there are around 73 million induced abortions. This corresponds to approximately 200,000 abortions per day.”
Worldometer noted that over the course of 2023 there were between 1,500 to 2,500 abortions a day in the United States alone.
“In the USA, where nearly 30 percent of pregnancies are unintended and 40 percent of these are terminated by abortion, there are between 1,500 to 2,500 abortions per day. Nearly 20 percent of all pregnancies in the USA (excluding miscarriages) end in abortion.
“Guttmacher Institute reports 930,160 abortions performed in 2020 in the United States, with a rate of 14.4 per 1,000 women,” it continued.
“CDC reports 629,898 abortions in 2019, with a rate of 11.4 abortions per 1,000 women (excludes CA, MD, NH).”
Despite the overturning of Roe vs Wade in June 2022, which ended federal abortion laws and returned the matter to individual states, abortions have sadly continued to rise throughout the country.
Many Republican states, including Texas and South Carolina, have passed legislation either limiting or outlawing the procedure.
Yet as noted by Axios, the number of abortions has risen as Democratic-controlled states have taken on women from other parts of the country.
“In states where it’s legal after six weeks, there were nearly 117,000 more abortions reported between July 2022 and June 2023 compared to baseline data from April and May 2022,” the outlet reported, citing a study from the Society of Family Planning.
“Many of the states with large increases border those with abortion bans and serve as access points for people traveling out of state.”

Legalized abortion not only is responsible for the yearly murders of millions of distinct human beings, but it also has devalued human life to the acceptance by most of a nihilistic culture of death, and as predicted over 50 years ago has led to legalize infanticide, assisted suicide, and euthanasia. This is what has been happening, because once it okay to dehumanize one class or group of people and get rid of them because they are unwanted you can only draw the line between those who have enough power and influence to be wanted and those who are not.
We now see a polarity growing on the issue particularly in the US which is a nation whose plutocrat establishment has been systematically aborting everything of any real value including its morality, family system and its own progeny to the extent that it now has to draw heavily on third and fourth-world nations to sustain its own population. It may not be the case that R. v. Wade was overturned because of Christian lobby efforts, but more so because the US has been aborting itself to death. The same can be said for any so-called “developed” nation.
In control of the media, the entertainment industry, the various governments, the courts, and educational systems, the secular-humanist moguls running everything have brought us a long way indeed, and right smack into the center of the culture of death, where our nations with little or no chagrin endorse the ethnic cleansing operations of our governments, and still work to clear the way from all resistance to receiving the Covid establishment death jabs, .
Pro-lifers in the courts as I recall some decades ago, used to argue that legalized abortion was no different from the Nazis killing Jews and others deemed to be unwanted by the ruling elites. What everyone missed was that legalized abortion was the seed of totalitarianism, not just because of the slippery slope in leading the extermination of other classes or groups of people deemed as unwanted, redundant, or useless eaters, but mainly because in nullifying the right of the incipient human being to life and to its unique future, it endorsed the principle that the host mother had the absolute and unfettered right to kill anything in the jurisdiction of her bodily she did not want in it. It is not just the historical and statistical connections of what goes on in atheistic communist jurisdictions between astronomically high abortion rates and totalitarianism, suggesting that getting rid of the unwanted is a feature of totalitarianism. There is also a psychological connection which comes from the acceptance by the public that in being able to get rid of problem people in their control or under them who are in some way a burden to them, that the state also ought to have the same right to do anything in their power to them. Such a scenario makes for a very subservient and sycophant public to any sociopathic state. In Canada it is now commonplace for a social or healthcare worker to induce a vulnerable person to take the jab to end their life, simply because they have become an inconvenient burden for the system. The first principle of any totalitarian state is that everyone is a subject whose first duty is to serve the state and not vice versa where it the first duty of those in power and positions of authority to serve the people.
Also, from the abortion mentality and the idea of getting rid of the unwanted in your midst, people you become more desensitized when it comes to the ethnic-cleansing operations in places like the Donbas or in Palestine. Because the unwanted people happen to be in some national jurisdiction and in control of the majority, the behavior of the rest of the world becomes very muted as if whatever goes on is the “private” matter of a Zelenski regime or a Netanyahu one. Even those who comment on this site advocating the killing Jews as a solution to world, national or local problems are in many respects victims of the abortion mentality.
The major problems of our times come down to moral issues and the absence of any firm basis for moral convictions. In the sway of the secular humanist pressures to ban the authority God from the public square, and very much based on the lie that one should not and cannot “impose their ‘private’ morality on others” though their vote or in our laws, the resulting fact is that any-religious based morality has been systematically neutralized, and any spiritual or God-based morality has been swept completely out of the public square.
In any case, there is no chance of a culture of life flourishing, with more well-adjusted children from secure and stable marriages, in any totalitarian system, or in any culture based on deception and lies, and one in which freedom of speech is suppressed and there is no duty of those in authority to tell the truth and disclose the facts on issues relevant to the people. It is also the case that is only through freedom of speech and honest disclosure that truth has a chance, and people are able to make responsible decisions.
Abortion, again is a good example of how the media, our governments, and the courts deliberately suppressed and ignored the facts of the early development of the child in the womb but also of the bonding between mother and the child in the womb having in most cases significant and life-long psychological scarring for the mother following an abortion, which cannot be wiped away by saying the child was just tissue or that there was no wrong done because it was legal. What is important to note, however, is that the morality here at issue has more to do with our ability to deal with and reconcile ourselves to the truth, and the evidence in so many respects and on so many issues, just keeps mounting and revealing to us that we are living in a culture where most people are increasingly not strong enough to tolerating any real red pilling. This situation is increasingly becoming very dangerous for everyone.
Who is mostly at fault for the mess, other than ourselves for our neutralism. We look to and blame the international banking cartel, or we blame the Jews who control the media and most of our governments because perhaps want to remove the competition, or if not then it is those “secular humanists” and the atheistic communists subverting everything. I know because I have done the same thing. However, those whom I blame the most are not those who are spiritually asleep and whose lives are devoid of God but appear to have all of the power over us, but who do not seem to have any authority acting over themselves to do otherwise. No, I blame all of the religious leaders whose job it has been to uphold the truth and to rely on all of the facts and reasons to support their moral principles in the face of their atheistic and secular adversaries. I blame them, and particularly those in the hierarchy of my own RC faith, because with all of their so-called moral and vacillating “teachings” they have usurped their way into positions of authority through political maneuvering and academic credentials, and on fundamental moral issues all they leave the people with is that so-called “teaching” authority, with everything in effect becoming a cafeteria-style “pro-choice” affair on all moral issues.
What we end up with is not only a siloed church with people choosing whatever parish and teaching they want as if they are on YouTube, but they are left with a church which has ceased to be a light to anything actually good and wholesome and a society with no real and universal authority for any truth, and especially any real moral prohibitions about anything, and especially with respect to lying to or deceiving your neighbor or to anyone either above or below you.
No, the facts are as we have seen through the entire Covid fiasco that we have very few if any real shepherds in any major religion of the world. Some call it “the great deception” which it was and is, but other than a few maverick prelates, there has not been a peep from the Vatican or from 99.99% of the leading or local prelates which I know of. No one in authority has taken issue with any of the secular authorities who simply now lie to us about virtually everything. The religious authorities whose faiths are supposed to be our moral authorities stressing serious and eternal consequences to any serious wrongs and evils we commit, get away with this gross negligence and their grave sins of omission in their failures to exercise their moral authority over their flocks and themselves. As for their duties to the truth it is as if they have abandoned their own authority over faith and morals in their own religious denominations and, in my view, it is mainly because they think they also believe like the secular authorities that they have an absolute right to lie to us. As a consequence, most of the people unfortunately happen to think in the same way. With this abuse of their authority, they in effect have aborted both faith and morals.
When the “Catholic” PM of Canada, Justine Trudeau, together with the “Catholic” MP’s of the infamous Liberal party of Canada, struck down the federal legislation in 2019 which barred the media from lying to the people, there was no protest from any prelate in the nation. No not a peep. Not a word was said. Now that we can more clearly see with the Covid dust settling and people dying in our midst from the toxic vaccines, and all of the linkages to usher in the globalist New World Order which the Trudeau government and the Vatican were pushing, we see that instead of trying to preserve the truth by promoting free speech, full disclosure of the facts, and at the same time opposing any right of the media to lie to us, they were as much a part of the deception and the crimes as any Gates, Rothschild, or Schwab, all of whom likely share the same ideological bed as those now running the Vatican.
What nonsense is this? We are supposed to seek the truth, but we cannot have access to it? We are supposed to try to make the world a better place, but we have to simply shut up and be satisfied with every lie, psyop, and mass deception dished out to us? Where is the encyclical and “teaching” backed by public condemnation and severe consequences of excommunication, for any government or person in power using brainwashing, mass hypnosis, and perception management technologies to control us? Where is the prohibition against all of these abuses of power? There is none, and there is none in any moral “teachings” with “any real life to them” in any church or major religion I can find. The religious authorities instead of being an example to the secular ones not only appear to be subservient to them on most moral issues, but also behave as if the ends justify the means, and are happy if they can get by saying one thing and doing another.
Lying and deception today are considered the privilege and right which goes with power they are given to exercise over their subjects. Yet, nothing can be more simple and just as a check to all of the abuses of power being inflicted on us, than clear pronouncements from those purporting to be our moral authorities, of the duty of anyone in power to give full disclosure of the facts relative to any of our vital interests which would enable us to make responsible decisions.
Also, the belief there is no real “truth” to anything works very well for the secular moguls running things because that also keeps us divided. However, behaving as if dishonesty by the power elites is some slight matter only adds to the breakdown of our entire civilization. Also, if there is doubt and relativity about what is really true for any belief system, then we have to be honest and admit that everyone, nevertheless, knows what a lie is. A lie is simply telling someone the opposite of what you believe to be true. Despite the variations of beliefs, we will never get at the truth or be able to challenge false beliefs as long as the new normal remains a sea of lies, which it is. Also, none of the constitutions, charters, conventions or declarations of human rights which in fact really means nothing now, can mean anything in the future under any leader, government or power structure which has a right to lie to us, and any society or organization to come out of it will not be worth living in, because it is “trust” which is based on honesty and access to the truth which is the source of all human flourishing in any family, community, nation or civilization.
