One of Bill Clinton‘s closest aides is among the dozens of people whose links to pedophile Jeffrey Epstein are set to be exposed in the new year.
Documents related to Doug Band, who helped rebuild Clinton’s image in his post presidency following the Monica Lewinsky scandal, will be released in early January after a ruling by a judge in New York.
Six files related to Band are among the hundreds ordered unsealed by Judge Loretta Preska, a tranche of information which could give fresh insight into the former president’s dealings with Epstein.
More than 170 people linked to Epstein are expected to be identified in the file including the late financier’s associates, friends, victims, and witnesses to his crimes.
They include the managers of Epstein’s island and a woman who testified at the 2021 trial of Ghislaine Maxwell, Epstein’s madam who is now serving 20 years in jail for recruiting underage girls for him.
Others could include Epstein’s powerful friends: the pedophile was known to have associated with Clinton, Prince Andrew, and former Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Barak.

With Band’s help, Clinton fashioned a new role for his post presidency with his Clinton Global Initiative which donated millions to good causes.
Yet Band was also with Clinton during some of his encounters with Epstein and was on the infamous 2002 trip to Africa about the pedophile’s private jet where the passengers included Kevin Spacey and Chris Tucker.
Photos from the trip show Clinton getting a massage from Chauntae Davies, an Epstein victim who worked as a flight attendant on the jet, nicknamed the ‘Lolita Express’.
Afterwards Clinton called Epstein a ‘highly successful financier and a committed philanthropist with a keen sense of global markets and an in-depth knowledge of twenty-first-century science’.
The documents are being released as part of a 2015 defamation case against Maxwell brought by Virginia Roberts, Prince Andrew’s accuser.
The case was settled but the Miami Herald sued to make the case documents public and since 2019 they have been released on a rolling basis.
In Judge Preska’s ruling, Band is John Doe number eight and she wrote that the documents should be unsealed as ‘no interests that outweigh the presumption of access have been identified with specificity’.
The judge cited a 2020 Vanity Fair interview given by Band and said it was about ‘his or her interactions with Epstein’ and him speaking out publicly weighed ‘against continued sealing’.
The interview was one of the most brutal takedowns of Clinton and it came from somebody who had been so close he was almost regarded as family.
Band, 51, a lawyer who works for a venture capital firm, landed an unpaid internship at the Clinton White House while he was 22 and still studying at Georgetown University.
When Clinton left office in 2001 Band went with him and helped to resurrect his brand that had been tarnished by controversial pardons and the Monica Lewinsky sex scandal.
In the Vanity Fair piece, Band told how he had been trying to get Clinton away from Epstein since their notorious 2002 trip to Africa on the pedophile’s private plane.
According to Band, who was on the trip, Epstein made a series of absurd claims including that he had invented the market in derivatives, a complex financial instrument.
Band didn’t know about Epstein’s crimes then – he was first arrested in 2006 – but got enough ‘bad vibes’ to advise Clinton to cut ties with him.
But he didn’t and in 2006 Epstein donated $25,000 to the Clinton Foundation and Clinton made more than 24 more trips on Epstein’s jet.
In January 2003, Band claimed Clinton visited Little St. James, Epstein’s island in the US Virgin Islands.
A Clinton spokesperson has strongly denied this, citing Clinton’s travel log entries which show no visit to the island.
Chelsea Clinton’s relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell was another problem, Band told Vanity Fair.
Clinton and Chelsea were so close to Maxwell that they attended the King of Morocco’s wedding where they posed with her and Epstein.
In 2010 Chelsea invited Maxwell to her lavish wedding in Rhinebeck, New York, even though Epstein had by then admitted to having sex with a minor and served 15 months in jail.
Upon his release, Epstein had become a registered sex offender.
Band said: ‘Ghislaine had access to yachts and nice homes. Chelsea needed that’.
In late 2011 Band told Clinton’s office to bar Maxwell from all events related to the family or their various ventures.
Rather than stopping their exposure to somebody embarrassing, his reasons were more personal: to drive a wedge between Maxwell and Chelsea.
Band said: ‘I knew in telling everyone to stop including Ghislaine that Chelsea and her father would be very angry. It made it harder for them to justify being close to her’.
After Epstein’s suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges, Clinton faced renewed scrutiny over his links to Epstein.
When police raided Epstein’s New York mansion they found a bizarre painting of Clinton in a blue dress pointing outward.
A spokesman for Clinton said he visited Epstein’s New York apartment once in 2002 but denied any wrongdoing and said he ‘knew nothing about the terrible crimes’ perpetrated by the pedophile.
DailyMail.com has contacted Band through AlleyCorp, a New York-based venture capital firm that he works for.
He previously worked for international PR and strategy company Teneo, which he helped to set up.

I get tired of reading that Epstein committed suicide. A very wealthy, very well-connected entrepreneur who offered a shady but high-demand product, who provided it to royalty, presidents, and billionaires who he befriended, and who was incredibly proud of himself would not give it all up. He’d more likely secretly escape prison with his his powerful buddies’ help, get enough plastic surgery to no longer resemble his old self, and be back in business in new locales. It wouldn’t be the first time the body of some homeless fellow who died on the streets was substituted for a person who the authorities wanted us to believe was dead but who was in fact alive and hidden out there somewhere.
