Scientists have managed to repeatedly produce nuclear fusion ignition for the first time, marking a major milestone towards achieving near-limitless clean energy at scale.
A team at the Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory (LLNL) in the US achieved fusion ignition last December, producing a net energy gain from a fusion reaction for the first ever time.
The feat was hailed as a “moment of history” by physicists, which LLNL scientists have now repeated a further three times.
The lab used the National Ignition Facility (NIF) to fire 192 laser beams at a frozen pellet of isotopes held within a diamond capsule suspended in a gold cylinder.
The resulting reaction replicated the same natural processes found within the Sun and resulted in a record energy increase of 89 per cent. This was only enough energy to boil a kettle, however scaling up this proof-of-concept could herald a “new era” of energy, according to the scientific journal Nature.
“I’m feeling pretty good,” Richard Town, a physicist who heads LLNL’s inertial-confinement fusion science programme, told the journal. “I think we should all be proud of the achievement.”
Nuclear fusion was on the agenda at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP28) earlier this month, with governments agreeing to speed up efforts to develop the technology.
“We are edging ever-closer to a fusion-powered reality. And at the same time, yes, significant scientific and engineering challenges exist,” US Climate Envoy John Kerry said at the summit in Dubai.
“Careful thought and thoughtful policy is going to be critical to navigate this.”
China, Japan, Russia and the European Union are also investing heavily in nuclear fusion research, with more than $6 billion invested to date, according to the Fusion Industry Association.
Among the companies investing in the technology is US tech giant Microsoft, who announced the world’s first purchase agreement earlier this year.
No other laboratory has replicated LLNL’s successful experiment, though a joint project between the EU and Japan officially opened a six-storey nuclear fusion reactor earlier this month.
The JT-60SA reactor in Japan’s Ibaraki Prefecture will attempt to produce fusion ignition over the coming months, while an even bigger reactor is currently under construction in France.

The problem with establishment science is that it is like too little butter spread over too much toast. TPTB need science to “fall in line” with their constructed geopolitical reality. To “question” the mechanism of how the sun produces energy begs question of how and whether CERTAIN alleged nuclear processes (explosions?) take place.

I’ve been observing the Sun for a long time through solar filters and sunspots became rare but now they are back. There are groups of them, sometimes refereed to as archipelago and looking at the sun a few minutes ago 9:45 EST there are doubles as well as single spots. It makes for more interesting viewing but there’s nothing unusual. The was of course no Eye of Sauron looking back.
A few years ago I ordered a solar filter from Amazon after reading that is was precision ground glass and not another cheap Mylar sheet knock-off from China. It took a long time to arrive and when it did I was a little excited to try it out. As luck would have it, it was from a company in Israel, not only was it not precision ground glass, it was Mylar, and made in China. But it fit securely on the viewing instrument, it did the job and with the Covid hoax beginning it didn’t make much sense to send it back only to get Ching Chong knock offs again. Free energy psyops are all authored by the same frauds.
These guys must not be aware of LENR. Eugene Mallove had this sorted then got beat to death in his apartment before he was to present at a conference. Andrea Rossi and his e-cat took up where Mallove left off. That was easily a decade plus ago now.
This is thoroughly splendid news indeed! I am old enough to remember that around 1957, there was a project at ARE Harwell called ZETA which promised much the same thing and that it would produce electricity which would be “too cheap to meter”. Quite a conundrum perhaps by design, maybe not. Because I’ve seen with my own two eyes and in broad daylight four different UAP/UFO. The last a few years ago (VW sized pure white round orb/probe) which, as previously relayed, flew over our heads at 40 mph 60 feet altitude after two directional changes and corresponding changes in altitude and speed. Hell, it changed direction, altitude and speed as it came right at us.After passing directly over our heads, (thumbs up) it shot towards the 1 o’clock position at many machs. Like a bullet fired from a rifle. Try as I might, I only heard imagined whooshing in my mind. Very perplexing. My neighbor was on the verge of tears.
Having had these experiences as well as other anomalous adventures, I can easily see flying cars, U.S. to EU in 15 minutes, etc., etc., etc. Personally I think it’s more a matter of permission than math and physics.
Three other times I saw three other anomalous unknown aircraft. Tales of the persecution and imprisonment of Galileo are mostly Judeo-Protestant propaganda. The genuine record reveals a much more nuanced and interesting conflict with Pope Urban and the Inquisition. I remember reading an account of the proceedings in one of the astronomy magazines about thirty years ago. It was a bit of a surprise to read that the Pope and Church officials let Galileo make his case. He never stamped his foot on the floor and said “but it moves”. Any search for ‘the real story of Galileo’ leads to another view; a bit like learning Mengele was a pretty nice guy and he didn’t have a ‘wall of eyes’.
He was never under any threat of being burned at the stake, tortured, or imprisoned for life. Sixteen years before his trial he was originally cautioned against heliocentrism as a public position, the Catholic Church didn’t abhor science but there were the common folk and their suspicions. The pope had practical considerations. When he was finally brought to trial, it lasted a half day, he spent only one day in prison and then released to his villa. The Church was a patron of some of the greatest minds of the last one thousand years. For example, they were working with the law of inverse squares long before Newton plagiarized the idea. Mendel was a Catholic abbot but most think it was Darwin who ‘invented’ genetics. Father Lemaitre is credited with the Big Bang theory of the propagation of the universe. Who cares if he was wrong, you have to admit he had us going on about the million-light-year-wide cosmos emanating from a single sub-microscopic seed. He was a highly regarded mathematician to boot. What’s not to like?

Once you understand that Eddington faked the light bending proof of Einstinian general relativity (the glass plate photographs at the Principe island 1919 solar eclipse were useless, they were blurry fakes), you realize it was a set-up. There was also a storm, but he calimed there was a break in the clouds. Eddington was a liar.
From there, the idea of the sun as a nuclear furnace and atomic bombs begins to fall apart. It’s a photosphere surrounding a massive field generating object. Eric Dollard had some very interesting ideas about the sun being counter space. Full stop. Enough already.
A few points:
1) This announcement was from last year, 2022. It is NOT a current new development.
2) The net energy gain is the difference between the energy absorbed by the target (2 MJ) and the energy released (3 MJ).
3) In order for that target to absorb 2 MJ, it had to be irradiated by a laser assembly which is less than 1% efficient. In other words, the laser which was used needed at least 200 MJ of electricity to produce that 3 MJ output.
4) The capacitor bank powering the lasers is also not 100% efficient. Estimates of total power needed to produce that 3 MJ output range from 300 MJ up to as high as 700 MJ.
5) The target is a pellet which costs in the $1,000,000 range. They are good for one use each.
6) The assembly is designed to fire about 600 times per year. Any useful design would need to fire about 600 time per MINUTE.

Yes. I went to a Catholic college to do my degree. I’m not a Catholic myself. During that time I studied a half unit of Philosophy of Science. The only decent study I remember from my whole three years. I did maths and physics, but the lecturers who ostensibly taught such subjects as Schrodinger’s Wave Equation and Special and General Relativity could move symbols around, but I now realise, didn’t really understand the subject. I recall pointing out a flaw in Special Relativity to my maths lecturer, and although she was both mathematically very capable and a nice person to boot, she couldn’t grasp the problem with the Twin Paradox – it was just moving symbols around. And so it is that maths, which should be a tool, has become the tail that wags the whole dog 🙂
The philosophy tutor, a Catholic, naturally keen to defend Galileo cited Arthur Koestler’s – “The Sleep Walkers” – a terrific read. I really recommend it. It describes the work Brahe, Copernicus, Kepler, and Galileo in their journey to reestablish a non-earth centred solar system – once known by the ancient Greeks (Aristarchus et al) Koestler was an early scholar on the Khazarian origins of the Ashkenazi Jews. He wrote “The Thirteenth Tribe”.
It does seem Galileo was rather quite arrogant. I recall his work entitled something like “A Dialogue Between The World Systems”, made one character in the dialogue something of a fool, who used the same arguments at Pope.
I do take the point about the propaganda used against the medieval church by the Protestants. But from what I can discern, and having recently read about the Medicis and the rise of one of this banker clan to becoming pope, the two denominations were bad for different reasons – maybe like the modern two-party state. I’m sure the so called 1605 Gunpowder Plot in England was a plan to vilify Catholics by Protestants…like the (none) Manchester bombing was to vilify Muslims.

On the subject of the inverse square law, it should be noticed that the F= Gxm1xm2/ d squared, is analogous to the electrical Coulomb’s Law, where G is held to be a universal constant in the former case but in the latter, a constant dependent on its environment. The Electric Universe guys have argued that G is not a universal constant. The idea therefore is that gravity is an emergent property of electrostatic interaction at a level below that often considered WRT to the atom.
