I’m uncertain as to whether Fred B is also Aloysius Fozdyke. I feel fairly certain that he’s not but I don’t want to become embroiled in disputations about honourable comportment, once again, with someone incapable of recognizing their own human fallibility and the propensity for error that being alive brings to us all. I’ve always been fond of you, Lewis because I like commentary that’s a discernably sincere expression of authentic personality.
When I write, I try to be myself, as you might find me, if we were to meet at the market place. I guess that when I’m in a didactic mode, it becomes more a matter of clear expression, in which, by degrees, I sublimate personality in pursuit of an educational ethic.
I have never doubted your honesty, nor that you speak from the heart.
You can’t please everyone, though. Almost inevitably, unwarranted jibes emerge on line to vex the spirit. I’ve been insulted here a few times too. I try to remain dignified and restrained in response to gratuitously viceral spites, when they’re directed my way. However, I welcome all constructive criticism and any correction of errors.
Equally, though, I’ve shown like contempt for those endlessly repetitive, multiple-avatar types who plague these pages.
We can all get irked and we do tend to have our own particular thresholds and sensitivities.
You need to be as thick-skinned as a hippopotamus at times, to prevent the belittling comments of others from penetrating through to your mood.
Be like a hippopotamus, dear friend. Hippos are harder than alligators. The giant reptile’s voracious jaws are not at all worrisome to the hefty, mud-loving, indolent fellow.
Remember that there are many here who appreciate your charismatic personality and your unimpeded, unaffected honesty.
