A California mom has claimed her 19-year-old daughter was ‘murdered by gender ideology’ after the CPS removed her from her home because her parents didn’t affirm her transgender identity.

Abigail Martinez stood before the California Judiciary Senate last week to blame gender ideology for taking her daughter Yaeli’s life.

Yaeli Mozelle Galdamez died by suicide in September 2019, three years after CPS removed her from her mother’s home.

In an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com in March 2022, Martinez accused her Los Angeles County school of encouraging Yaeli to take hormones and undergo gender reassignment surgery as a child, while failing to properly treat her severe depression.

‘The school was telling her to go to these LGBT groups behind my back. She went from questioning her sexuality to her gender,’ she said.

At the hearing last week, Martinez said her daughter was  murdered by a gender ideology’.

‘CPS took my daughter when she was 16 years old. It was helped by her public school counselor and LGBTQ group and another trans-identified girl.

‘My daughter was taken from her loving home because the state of California claims I was abusive for not affirming her trans identity. I lost my daughter over a name and pronouns.’

Martinez said her daughter began questioning her gender identity when she entered high school and joined an LBGTQ+ club, where she met a friend who also identified as a boy and suggested Yaeli’s depression could be from her actually being a boy, the mother told the Daily Signal last year.

She said the school did not inform her about her daughter’s desire to transition and after she expressed concerns, Yaeli’s school counselor recommended she’d be better off out of her parents’ home.

She went on to say that her daughter had ‘mental health issues’ and was ‘not a boy trapped in a girl’s body.’

However, throughout her daughter’s transitioning – where she was almost immediately put on testosterone – Martinez claimed to have called her daughter by her chosen names, Jay and Andrew, and did try to support her daughter.

CPS took Yaeli to a group home and only allowed her mother to visit her once a week for an hour. Martinez told the Daily Signal she did ‘everything’ to try and get custody of her daughter again, but was unable and now questions why so many of the state’s adolescent transgender community ends up in foster care.

‘Why are there so many transgender in foster care? Because this state take them from their families, tells them to run, then steals them. Parents are given one option to treat their distressed child: Affirm drugs and remove their healthy body part or else lose your child,’ she told the Judiciary Senate.

‘The abuse claim against me was finally dropped, but it was too late. The damage was done. By then, my daughter was in horrible mental and physical pain. My daughter knelt down in front of a train. She was murdered by gender ideology.’

The mother said it ‘breaks my heart’ that CPS took her daughter with the ideology that removing her from her ‘loving’ home would give her ‘more [of a] chance to survive’ and a lower chance of suicide.

While in CPS’ custody, her daughter was put on hormones, went by the name Andrew, and ‘adopted a dog’ to make her happy, her mother claimed.

‘Everything that they [did] didn’t work,’ Martinez told the Daily Signal.

‘Against my consent, my daughter was given testosterone instead of therapy,’ she told the Senate committee.

She told Fox News’ Jesse Watters a California judge approved giving Yaeli testosterone. The mother claimed all her daughter had to do was sign off and watch a video before receiving her first shot.

‘She believed all the lies she was told,’ the mother said. ‘She followed their agenda.’

Martinez said her daughter’s depression got worse throughout treatment and she begged doctors to explain the damage being done to her child’s body but was told nothing negative was happening.

Taking testosterone treatments can cause sleep apnea, weight gain, vaginal atrophy, diabetes, and hair thinning, among others, according to the Cleveland Clinic.

Now, the mother is pushing for others to stop advocating for gender transitioning among children.

‘I beg you, stop pushing gender ideology,’ Martinez told the California committee. ‘I don’t want any parent to feel what I feel every day. Affirmation is not good for the health, safety, and welfare of any child.’
