The term Orwellian has been debased by over-use and misunderstanding. It’s come to represent anything that’s futuristic and unpleasant. In actual fact Orwell’s understanding of where our world was heading was infinitely more profound than that. Here’s what I understand by the term.
All power devolves to the State: Competing intuitions like religion, family, free trade unions etc. are suppressed. Control of citizens’ access to information is micro-managed down to the lowest level of detail and reinforced by endless brainwashing.
Freedoms are systematically reduced until only those approved by the State are allowed. State control is literally everywhere as exemplified by the ‘Big Brother is watching you’ motif. Whereas non-Orwellian tyrannies concentrated on controlling physical opposition, Orwell envisaged a time when actual thought would be controlled, hence the Thought Police. Offenders, the lucky ones, would be sent to ‘re-education’ centres for reprogramming.
The application of Doublethink and Newspeak: This is represented be the legendary Ministry of War being designated Ministry of Peace, control called support, lies and propaganda disseminated by the Ministry for Truth and so on. Many people today think (to the extent that they think of it at all) that this device serves merely to sugarcoat the unpleasant. It does, but it also operates at the deepest psychological level, serving to atomise society, undermine self-confidence making individuals easy prey for a powerful State. I read somewhere of experiments with rats where the murine equivalent of Doublethink literally lead to some rats starving themselves to death.
Rewriting of history: “He who controls the past controls the future. He who controls the present controls the past.” The more you reflect on Orwell’s words the more you appreciate their wisdom. Germany presents a perfect example, having been assigned total responsibility for the horrors in both World Wars. This travesty has been applied to extract massive ‘compensation’ from the unfortunate German workers and continues, by invoking the Nazi and Hitler slurs to denigrate anything the new masters disapprove of.
These principles were of course actively implemented in the former USSR and its satellites. But now the EUSSR, this time in the form of its Irish vassal state, sees the Orwellian apotheosis embodied in proposed new legislation, described by The Irish Slimes, in what’s almost a parody of Orwellian DoubleSpeak as “Hate crime and speech legislation to protect freedom of expression. Bill affords ‘robust safeguards’ for artistic and political discourse and offers ways to deal with offensive online content.”
Of course the legislation will do, and is intended to do, the exact opposite. Its terms are so broad and vague as to make virtually anything the authorities don’t like an indictable offence. Innocent intent is not a defense. Nor is truth. Nor is fair comment on true facts. Publication in the public interest and for the public benefit is not a defense. Opinion expressed in good faith is not a defense. Responsible journalism (remember that?) is not a defense.

These edicts ( for lack of a better word to describe ‘legislation’ ) are needed by the politicos in Ireland because people are waking up and getting vocal about the absolute flooding of Ireland by turd worlders and every other form of detritus from all across the world who are given free everything as soon as they manage to slither to our shores.

It’s not a great surprise that the scum in Dublin are fomenting this travesty. For decades now the Irish universities have been churning out a steady stream of graduates who have been thoroughly brainwashed by those Marxist institutions. These graduates then went on to positions of power and influence in the establishment so that now, what was in living memory a fairly conservative and homogeneous country, has become an increasingly ‘progressive’ and degenerate multi-cultural society. It is interesting that a Marxist in the government wanted some amendments because even he thought that this legislation was too extreme but was overwhelmingly voted against by the ‘representatives’ of the Irish people. It should be no surprise that the Irish Pravda, the Slimes, is all for it. It is also unsurprising that the majority of the population is blithely unaware of the ramifications of this Bolshevik law and will continue to concern themselves with making money and watching sport instead of marching in the streets and hauling out these traitors to face justice. One wonders whether it will have retroactive clauses which will allow arrest and punishment for what individuals said in the past. For example, a post like this.

That’s what “law” is. Do as we say or else. If you don’t do as we say we’ll sic our “lawyers” and “judges” and “magistrates” on you. And it’s all to “keep you safe”.
Only the rich aren’t already completely controlled by the scum that own everything. The poor are unable to escape from birth to death, their whole lives dicatated by the scum that have wrapped them up in endlessly “updating” contracts that they have no ability to defend themselves against. It’s jew filth enslaving the masses, and you call it “society” and “community” and “safety” so that you can pretend it isn’t abject slavery.

I always said the irony is if George Orwell had used his real name Eric Blair we would have spoken of a Blairist future. Well that’s already arrived.
Back in 1997 when that piece of trash Tony Blair was elected–and he was elected because they couldn’t rig elections then like they can now, they just had to sell him hard–he introduced some nasty laws. He got rid of double jeopardy so people can be tried twice if first time they’re found innocent (that f***er hasn’t been tried once yet). And he got rid of the law of infanticide by which even the medievalists recognised post-partum depression in new mothers, and no murder charges could be brought against a new mother if she killed her child before it was a year and a day old. Mothers have been charged with murder when before they’d have been charged with infanticide. (How many Iraqi babies has this mass-murderer killed?) I heard his government introduced about 2,000 laws, many of them under the radar.
There’s only one thing lower than a turd and that’s its skid mark. Orwell couldn’t have known it but he did right not to be associated with the shit-stain Tony Blair.
This is what inevitably happens to all white nations for believing in some anti-white rabbi religion (Christianity) for centuries..

Perhaps Orwell’s quote would be better put by saying, “If liberty means anything at all, it means the right to express what you believe to be the truth.”.
The problem with taking Orwell’s own quote to heart, is that it says nothing about the liberty of telling lies either for your own interests or for what you believe for others. Yet that is really the main complaint of his entire book. In a culture where pragmatism is the basic religion, where success is the measure and justification of liberties used over others to attain it, it is not a very distant step to where the fact of simply having wealth and power is the justification for doing virtually anything you want. Presently in our civilization the greatest liberties being exercised over us come from the ruling elites where neither the means being used, nor the ends sought are actually for our good.
It is not so much of what is in the dystopian fantasies of Orwell, Huxley, Hitler and Marx. It is what is missing in them, which ought to count for far more than it does. If now we are supposedly at war with the New World Order, which is most certainly very much a combination of such fantasies, then it would appear the main complaint is that our “liberties”, our basic rights, are systematically being stripped from us, whereby we are all to end up as thralls in some top-down, technocratic and totalitarian beehive.
The dystopian fantasies become central and take over when there is a vacuum of morals and when we fail to assert a positive vision of who we really are and how we want to be governed. Orwell saw clearly the trajectory towards totalitarianism from the signs of his times, but he had no moral basis strong enough to offer as an effective solution. What he gave us was the ability to say “NO!” to it, but not the way to build something based on something good coming from within and of the people. If there is now nothing really good left in us, no virtue, substance or higher purpose of this life, and it is too late after some 60 years of systematic establishment fragmentation and their slow boil of our faith and morals out of us, then perhaps it does not matter how we are government and we may as well be satisfied to live in the totalitarian hive. However, that cannot be regardless of the hypnotized, brain-dead compliant in our midst, we are still human beings and not human bees, and a proper moral basis and purpose is what is necessary for any society and system of laws.
Freedom and the flourishing of any society comes down to what is right and wrong, knowing what is right and wrong and being, and people being able to make decisions for right over wrong. The greatest crisis is that the people are being programed into a state where the only wrong are violations against the will of the ruling state imposing their destructive and anti-human norms. The abject failure of our traditional moral leaders is because half of them have been replaced by sycophant amoral ones, and the other half by people too weak, compromised and cowering to assert any meaningful opposition.
In opposing mass deceptions, brainwashing, government and media lying, psyops, fear mongering, the non-disclosure of information crucial for us to make rational and important decisions in our lives, as well as opposing monopolies, cartels, trusts, insider trading, frauds and many other establishment crimes and forms of oppression, what we are really opposing are the big shots who are abusing their wealth and their powers. Generally speaking, the richer you become the more liberties you have to assert your will over your temporal circumstances and others, and it is the rich and the powerful who least respect and take most liberties over the rights and interests of others. In effect we are saying that we want more laws, and not less laws, and a system for imposing those laws and prosecuting all offenders, as well as a system not hampered or corrupted by the rich and the powerful.
What we are saying is that we want more effective controls to police and punish those in positions of power and authority over us who have abused their trust and powers. We are saying that equality under the law means nothing if it is only meant to ensure only equality based on race, religion and gender. Our laws have to apply equally to and especially to those who are rich and powerful, and if it is said we already have such laws but that the rich and powerful tend to get off Scott free for their crimes and abuses, then what we need are special laws with special punishments to ensure they do not.
