Metropolitan Pavel is forced to sign search warrant

This Saturday morning (April 1st), Ukrainian security forces raided the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra and forced the governor (chief priest), Metropolitan Pavel, to sign a search warrant, before taking him for questioning.
He is being charged with “inciting inter-religious hatred and justifying the armed aggression of the Russian Federation.”
A thousand-year-old Monastery in Kiev, one of the most important Christian pilgrimage centers in the world, has become the focus of attention of the international community, as Orthodox priests defy orders from the Ukrainian government to vacate the premises, in a fight for the soul of the Slavic people from Eastern Europe.
Situated on a hilltop on the western bank of the Dnieper River, the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra is “a masterpiece of human creative genius in both its architectural conception and its remarkable decoration,” according to UNESCO.
After the raid this morning, searches are underway in the Metropolitan’s home, and he has been placed under house arrest. The police has cordoned off the building, while believers are gathering nearby.
“The Monastery of the Caves, as it is also known in English, has been tangled up for years in worsening Ukrainian-Russian relations, relations that resulted in a formal split — a schism — between the Ukrainian and Russian Orthodox churches in 2019, when the Ukrainian church was granted independence.
Now the issue is coming to a head at the historic monastery, as Ukrainian officials demand that the priests who live there — some of whom are suspected of recognizing the authority of the Moscow church — vacate the facility.”
Metropolitan Pavel has been under sanctions from Zelensky’s government since late January, when he accused the Ukrainian authorities of persecuting the church.
“[…] We, monks, more than 200 people, must leave the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra, our home. The grandchildren of the revolution, the grandchildren of the leaders of the persecutors of the Church of Christ, today are hiding behind the good. Probably, the Apocalypse begins with Ukraine.
[…] We will defend our rights to the last, defend our shrines to the last. […] If they defame the church, they blaspheme Christ.”
And the Kiev regime does not hide their intentions towards these priests: in an interview with a Ukrainian TV channel, Mykhailo Mykhailovych Podolyak, adviser to Zelensly, declared that the impasse around the monastery is “an excellent opportunity to physically ‘clean up’ pro-Russian priests.”
He added that in the first 3-6 months of the War, it was possible to liquidate such people “very quickly and painlessly,” but this does not mean that it is now impossible.
This was not an isolated incident. The Gateway Pundit reported two weeks ago on a different raid on an Orthodox monastery.

Surely Ukrainians realize their country has been hijacked by the jews????.
Then put two and two together and realize the persecution of religious figures is their doing….surely the know the poisonous dwarf is a jew….as are most of the top people….like the Ukrainian boxer,now mayor of Kiev.
A lot of people spend a lot of time in these Comments Columns calling each other variations of ‘idiot’, and often terms a deal less polite.
(They either use pseudonyms or have very common surnames so that they could be one of thousands but – I never insult people because of the power of negative words.)
Which explains why those United in Evil – who support Globalism by default- are on such a good wicket.
Because by their very human nature a lot of those despise each other as well, but the most Evil – the ones who have been practicing it for generations of their generation – by their very lack of scruple, hold on to the most power.
However I am going to be a bit negative here and use up my 2023 quota of negativity all at once by utilising the word ‘chump’ here – nothing stronger.
There are ‘chumps’ here who actually usually make very astute observations but they make a big deal of ‘dissing’ Westerners who choose to be Believing Christians.

How do people think the Civilisation they are bemoaning as being dismantled on all levels came about in the first place?
WHAT do they think people were treated like in pre-Christian times?
Why do they think that it is ALWAYS Open Season on Christianity, no other Creed, and via that, on the Family Unit?
How do they expect people to be connected to each other, bond in families, to be integrated into the Cycles of Life on this Planet, to develop and mature as individuals, without a collective acknowledgement of the Sacred and the marking of the Rites of Passage – Birth, Adolescence, Marriage, Death?
Paradox lies at the heart of existence; it is a fact of our condition that we have the best chance of leading integrated, productive and varied lives if we have the constraints of Faith – rather than the constraints of the small-minded and Woke totalitarian constructs of post-Christian Europe.
Those men who dedicated their lives to, say, building the Great Gothic Cathedrals of Europe, often in the knowledge that they would be long dead before the completion of the project, created something beautiful and everlasting that the Shard in London or the Empire State in New York cannot approach in terms of – ANYTHING.
Europe produced Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Tchaikovsky (who wrote highly regarded Christian Orthodox Music) within the context of Christian Civilisation – no one alive now even approaches them – most of the great technological and social innovations from the efficient and still functional Victorian Sewers of London to the first Hospitals were created in the context of Christian Civilisation.
And this is not even to mention the Supernatural Aspect, which is Real and channeled collectively and SANELY, with a direct connection to the Timeless Wisdom and Sacred Knowledge of Proportion and Harmony in Music, Prayer, Prose, Architecture and so forth, and based on a profound and instinctive knowledge of how human societies can best be organised to provide the maximum autonomy combined with the maximum continuity.
Any Individual ‘dissing’ Christianity will have plenty of material to work on, but are going to be confined to their individual perception. Others will agree with them on the awfulness, or zomboidness, or whatever, of Christianity, but they won’t agree with each other on much else.
They may well be gifted with their own Spiritual Insights that are of benefit to them, but it will not be of much valuable collective application .
*Orthodox Christianity has always provided the space for Individual Visionaries to flourish, as with Padre Pio who is up on this site today, and Abbess Hildegard of Bingen – many of these potential Visionaries are today leading the sad, directionless, isolated lives of the Autistic and the Outsider *
What I am saying is that the greatest hope for a reasonable future, for a thriving culture where children can be brought up in strong and loving families, hence best fostering their own personal growth as imposed to New Age-ey Personal Growth, lies in the Revival of Orthodox Christianity, and this is largely confined to the East – as predicted in the strong vein of both Orthodox and Folk Slavic Prophecy.
Besides, I LOVE what this chap is saying here – he has drawn the same conclusion about the Ukraine Conflict as me – as in – ‘I have no idea’ –

Are there any synagogues in Ukraine? If there are, then why is the seedy Zelenski not finding pro-Russian activity anywhere there? And if there are not, why is that? All fled to Israel, including the men aged 18-60, while the going was good?

All I can say in response is that – although much derided, the ‘Flat Earth Theory’ – well, if the Earth really is Flat, then we are not descended from Monkeys and Creation is instantly meaningful.
The people who want us to believe we are descended from monkeys most definitely want us to believe we are only held onto the ground by the fact of a globe spinning around so fast it stops us from springing up into the ether merely by the power of the centrifugal force imparted by a vast Globe spinning at thousands of miles an hour – or something 😕
Guy Reid-Brown–the problem for Christianity is that, in the 1500s, people began to read the Bible in their own language and saw that it had never addressed any questions of philosophy or Science and had simply said “It’s God, so shut up, sit down, obey us, or we’ll kill you”. This sort of disrespect for minds and people calls for punishment, not just disobedience, even if the old system had some effectiveness as a Dictatorship. You can accept praise from a Flat Earther if you want
