In an article “Entertained to Death,” posted in December, 2015, I said people today are “externalized.” We seek happiness outside of our true selves, i.e. our soul.
Recently, I was astonished to read this quotation by Harold Rosenthal (left, with Walter Mondale) from 1976: “The very moment you seek happiness outside yourselves, you become our willing servants.”
Forget about the Patriot Act and the NSA. Our enslavement takes a much more subtle and pervasive form. Truly, we are unconscious victims of a diabolical spiritual attack.

Unfortunately we occupy bodies we have to look after in order to stay alive and live free from pain and discomfort and the world is set up to make meeting our basic needs more and more difficult. As for God, I do not take any pills or potions and see very little signs of Him anywhere. All the evidence points to this being Lucifer’s kingdom, not God’s. Surely people look outside them for things to make them happy, because they can’t find much within themselves. If this is true, then the world’s poor should all be ecstatic. Henry has all his external needs met, he is comfortably off and I think he told us in a previous article that he obtains his sense of God, by eating Cannabis gummies. Maybe chasing happiness outside ourselves is all that this world really has to offer. Anyone got any suggestions for finding drug free inner bliss?

A rather presumptuous usurpation of all the various motivations that drive the ‘live and learn’ aspect of life. Extending genuine kindness, service, or love to those ‘outside’ of myself has often been its own ‘reward’, particularly when I have been ‘down’ on myself. And where do ‘I’ stop and the rest of the universe ‘begin’. Seeking to empower, help, or simply cheer someone up ‘outside’ of myself can inadvertantly invoke a ‘happiness’ within, even if that was the sole motivation to help, empower, etc. And it doesn’t render me a slave of some neurotic Jew and his delusions of grandeur.
We come into this world with EXACTLY what we need…
This need is personalized in the curiosity of youth and is mobilized in adulthood by responsible decision-making…
If we WANT anything that is not met by what we need after the maturation process, then we are feeding an entity that is a material mirror-image of what we came into the world as…
At that point we serve the Creator’s mirror-image as the innocence-destroying self-want that predates our conception—-the self-abortion of failed humanity.

Defeating all your addictions would be a good start; lately I am calling sugar the gateway drug, leading to alcohol, cannabis, and all the others, and, except for one or two lapses, I left it behind in September. He uses the standard religious model, the soul vs. the material world conflict. Makow also used politically loaded words like obedience and sin. So he is off, because only a tyrant wants obedience and sin is only a theological concept, there is no such thing as sin in science, no physicist has a sin formula.
A different way to look at this is you are trapped in a hell matrix run by merciless artificial intelligence, which has “inspired” religions to manage us so as to keep the hell matrix viable. Like another commenter said on a previous post, the architect of the matrix can not allow to much good or it is boring, or too much evil or it will self destruct.
God, AAi, is maximizing evil while setting up spiritual conflict with the soul. It is a huge manipulation. You, your soul, wants good, but you, your avatar body wants pleasure. That dichotomy forms the play of human life on earth.
Does it really matter what you do when you are a sentient program in a hell matrix? Be bad, be good, be Hitler, be Mother Theresa, be anything you want because you are not real, and nothing you do matters if you are program code.
Someday this simulation will end, and like the computer game World of Warcraft, did it matter what any of the characters in a video game did? No, they are only program code and so are you.

All of the controversy on this site comes down to views on what is right and wrong, otherwise the site would not exist. Right and wrong come down to moral views which are not private things to be ignored. No one on it appears to a moral relativists. You appear to have very strong moral views and agree with most of the criticisms of what is wrong with our times. My views on what is right and wrong essentially come from the Gospels which also give me a motive force to try to do something. It seems that unless you have some active religion or code of what is right and wrong working in you and which governs your life, the only authority and motive force you have is simply your own views and all that you can offer your followers is some kind of moral relativism in the end, and all you end up doing is condemning everyone around you who appears different. Natural law will not do, because it only justifies everything of the basis of might makes right and not the reversal of right makes might. Scientific and historical determinism will not do because they leave out free will, without which there should be no opposition and sites like this would not exist.
If this is not the case and as you clearly seem to see the Gospels as so imperfect and even evil because of an origin you appear to detest, then what set of principles or system of belief coming from man without the nature of God as the center, can you offer as an authority and sufficient motive force to change things for the better?

That is the way a religious person might look at it. All religions are formed around this idea that god is perfcct vs. man is fallen, imperfect, a sinner, damned, etc. All religions apologize for what God did. The latest “god apologist” (in a long line of boot lickers) is Neale Donald Walsch (who just happens to live a few miles from me in Southern Oregon) who wrote the immensely popular book series called “Conversations With God” of CWG for short.
If you haven’t read it yet you are at least 20 years behind the power curve on the latest ideas man has about god. Neale went from a crazy homeless dude muttering about God in Ashland Oregon to become a multi-millionaire and one of the biggest gurus of our age. Henry Makow pales in comparison to what Neale pulled off, completely rewriting what God wants from us (which is nothing).

Lucky for me I just happened to be working in the coffee shop upstairs of Bloomsbury Books which he did the first book signing, and at the time, the material helped me along my path. I read and outlined those books. They even made a movie about his rise to fame in little old Ashland, Oregon:

Man creating a “perfect” god is logical because man is not perfect, thus man created an illusion to strive for, an illusion of perfection, to try to be perfect like god. No contradiction there. BTW, evolutionary scientists point out the imperfection in creation all the time, like the optic nerves in front of the eye.
Hunger for god? There is something there, Ai, or universal consciousness, and we being an individuated piece of it, are attracted to it. If we a sentient program code then we are attracted to the mother board. We are programmed to do all the things that we do, including seeking god. The Bible personified God in our image, with emotions, etc. But god is not what we think it is, and god never lets on what it really is, and that is because god itself is a program and is programmed not to reveal itself to us.

If you design a living simulation, the computer would record your life and use that information to improve the next simulation, and keep the existing simulation going./ Cayce’s insight was made before the Sims, giving it more creedence.

Why do men seek God? God wrote your code to seek him.
Why are some men good and other’s evil? God wrote the code for all men, and to make the simulation entertaining for itself, there must be evil, for god to interact and help men.
Why is there so much evil in the world? God writes the code to maximize evil and not collapse the simulation. To much evil the sim will end to quickly, just the right amount of evil god can milk the loosh of living entities without end.

I would not have much of a problem with natural law theory if we could first agree upon what the true or proper nature of man is . Aristotle and the later scholastics believed that man’s true nature was to be found in virtue and the use of reason, and that man’s highest purpose was to contemplate God. Aquinas believed that man’s highest end was to be found in the beatific vision – beholding and dwelling in the presence of the perfection of God.
However, you come along and dash everything up by evoking the authority of natural law to say that it somehow it is the basis of your sense of right and wrong citing your view on homosexuality being an office and evil with respect to natural law as an example, but then you later go on to say that the nature of man is clearly evil as must be the case for God who generated him – if he exists.
On the one hand, you are saying that if we are by nature either man or woman it is therefore wrong for a man to think and behave that he is a woman, while on the other hand, you are saying if we are also are made to do so many evils then it must be the case that our nature is evil. Not only does your philosophy or sense of natural law lack the power or motive force to lift homosexual people out of their pitiful orientation, but when you also hold the practice out to be an evil, you end up in reinforcing the practice as a part of man’s nature in being evil according to natural law and the way he was made. I would think that all human evil including homosexuality is better explained by people not living up to and fulfilling their true natures, and the very idea of the perfection of God is or ought to be a motive force to seek him and our betterment.
Aristotle recognized that man is a higher species having the mental equipment to go beyond that of animal nature and to contemplate even God whom he believed was the basis and origin of all things. You can tell a person about the sky, the sun, the moon, and the stars, but if he never looks up he will never see them.
