    And I seek AI “software” to create the next, better AI, so I can use that one to create the next better AI, so I can… etc… so I can eventually ask deep thought what 42 means.

    Does it ever occur to any human anywhere that if you actually had anything remotely resembling “AI” then it’d be everywhere (and not just spewing useless answers at you from “customer service” chatbots, or trying to sell you amazon trash every time you open your mouth). Where is max headroom? Where is the AI car? The AI controlled plane? The AI designed whatever? The AI air traffic control system? The AI army general? The AI “leader”? Heck, you haven’t even got an “AI” that can pass as a human over a computer chat. Can you imagine if you set your “AI” up as an army general? There’d be some battle somewhere and it would spew out “I don’t quite understand what you asked, please pick from the following options…”
