Can Americans govern themselves as the Founding Fathers intended? The clear answer is no, not under the arrangements that exist today. Self-rule pretends to exist, because people vote. People might get the candidates for whom they voted, although we know that that was not the case in the past two national elections. It is easy for big city machines to steal the vote as was proved in Biden’s “election” and the last Arizona “election” for governor.
Even if the elections are fair and the candidates who win are declared winners, it doesn’t mean that the people are represented. The reason is that the representative, senator, governor, and president elected knows that his success depended on large campaign contributors, such as pharmaceutical companies, the military-security complex, energy, mining, and timber corporations, agribusiness, real estate developers, etc. Unless a candidate is a billionaire, it is impossible for him to run unless he has large contributors intent on having their interests served.
This means that the interests of large campaign contributors come first. They are the ones who originate bills and control the outcomes with lobbying. We also know that every regulatory agency is captured by the group that is being regulated. For example, the Covid protocols and “vaccine” mandates proved that the NIH, CDC, and FDA are marketing agents for Big Pharma, not protecters of the public’s health. Why do you think that America alone is always at war? It is because of profits for the armaments corporations. Washington has institutionalized three formidable enemies–Russia, China, and Iran–and that guarantees the budget and power of the military/security complex.
Americans cannot govern themselves because an oligarchy governs through campaign contributions. A crazed, indeed one could say treasonous, US Supreme Court destroyed all accountability of government to the people in 2010 with its Citizens United ruling that legalized the private purchase of government by removing limits on campaign contributions in the name of free speech, a ruling that turned corporations into people. Much has been written about this nonsensical ruling. You can find plenty to read about the ruling on your own.
In an article in the City Journal (Winter 2023) Martin Gurri describes a constellation of forces that block a popular agenda, by which he means one that the majority of voters wants. Gurri understands that legitimacy is what citizens bestow on government, not what government bestows on citizens, but that is not the way government works. Everywhere in the Western World government of every country ignores what the people want. No population in Europe wants to be drawn into the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Not a single government cares. No population wants to be overrun by immigrant-invaders. Not a single government cares. All over the Western world there were strong protests against mandatory Covid vaccination, lockdowns, mask mandates, Covid passports, and only Governor Ron DeSantis of Florida paid any attention. The people are against censorship, but it exists. The people are against their kids being indoctrinated in schools with critical race theory and gender theory, but the indoctrination continues with government support and financing. If the oligarchy miscalculates, as it did with Donald Trump, and a representative of the people gets elected, the oligarchy immediately begins attacks that prevent him from accomplishing anything. If reelected, the oligarchy refuses to acknowledge it and uses its monopoly over power to declare its chosen candidate the victor. President Trump endured four years of orchestrated Russiagate, two orchestrated impeachment attempts, with orchestrated Insurrectiongate and orchestrated Documentgate still continuing, and his reelection was denied him in the most blatantly obvious stolen election in human history.
Martin Gurri thinks that digitization will enable the people to govern by referendums. Fat chance that those in power will permit any such thing or acknowledge the referendums if they were held. Surely a person as clued in as Gurri doesn’t think the ruling elite will allow government to be accountable to anyone but themselves.
The baldfaced undeniable fact is this: Government accountable to the people is impossible unless all money is taken out of politics. As long as the Citizens United decision stands, it is strictly impossible for government to be accountable to the voters. As long as America lacks an independent media with integrity, it is strictly impossible for government to be accountable to the people. In America democracy is nothing but a veil behind which the oligarchy rules.

The US tri-branched form of government was created as a means of dividing centralized powers into a self-correcting mechanism. Absent the self-serving special group campaign contributors and absent stolen election which The Founders did not anticipate still the system had a major flaw here that PCR failed to mention and that is when any president rules by ‘Presidential Decrees’ and ‘presidential proclamations’, which are not counted as decrees but serve the same purpose whichever way you look at it. Substitute ‘Royal ‘ for ‘Presidential’ and already we are in a realm different from either Democracy or Constitutional Republic, again which The Founding Fathers did not have the foresight to expect.
This fact matters very much for the US and the rest of the world that adopt the decisions made in the US as their role model, which then affect all of us.
Discussions are ongoing as we speak between the Bidet administration and the WHO on how best to surrender ALL powers of USA through The Pandemic Treaty which Bidet will sign. Everyone thought that this power-grab could come through the Trojan horse UN but it comes through its affiliate sister agency the WHO, the UN will only be expected to control foreign troops on the US soil.

Taking the money out of politics would be a great start, but not the ultimate answer. Direct involvement and self-organization of the citizenry is required, but they can’t become involved because of:
1. Ignorance of history, geography, language, and logical-thinking skills, per the “3-R” approach to education.
2. Inability to discuss politics and religion, the only two topics worth discussing, but, of course, the very two that are prohibited in “polite conversation.” They are prohibited because our “betters” don’t want us discussing them and thereby attaining improved concepts of what’s really going on. At many jobs here in the U.S., you will be fired for freely expressing and exchanging political ideas, and, of course, the common folk must have jobs, as they live by the sweat of their brows, so they wisely keep quiet. And this is well known to our “betters.”
3. A lack of time resulting from work days that stretch to 10-15 hours…in many cases necessitated by hopeless debt levels…due to financial ignorance, another product of the “3-R” educational system.
All of the above are by design…of our “betters,” the self-proclaimed “Elites.”
Insofar as taking money out of politics, how can this be achieved? The system won’t reform itself. An analogy would be asking a lion to become a vegetarian.

Yes. PCR is totally right about the US and every other leading nation of the West being a sham democracy. Democracy only exists in some of the local counties and smaller towns where people know one another and the big money interests are not in control. For the higher-level election campaigns, vote rigging now is mainly a failsafe much like abortion is to the reliance on artificial contraceptives, because between the major parties the election issues are totally contrived, with the leading candidates all approved, selected and controlled, with the mainstream media doing the rest to hoodwink the people that they are actually making choices in their voting to rule their nations.
The top-down power brokers, especially in the US, with tentacles all over the world running the world’s largest empire ever, would never trust the ignorant, brainwashed, dumbed-down public to run anything really important, much less their own nation. Those who have been entrusted with any position of power and responsibility are all groomed for their positions, and have to be totally obedient to that top-down order and their plans. The Covid lockstep plandemic ought to have absolutely proven this fact to any truther.

If one knows anything about how sheeple acquired the vote in England, how it was carefully dripped out to those who owned property, or had a given income, you’d know that the vote was given to all thicko sheeple, because they posed no threat to the system.
Same for women’s rights. Men have no rights, so women have no rights. Voting is an insult, that indemnifies the elites. They don’t even implement their election policies.

Commenter and vlogger Emil Cosman has said Russia has charged 680 Ukrainian “officials” with war crimes. This would explain the timing of Kamala Harris the other accusing day Putin of war crimes. I’d say it’s possible the US was warned of these charges by the Red Cross.

The extension of the franchise and the essential taking away of choice was quite a clever ploy by the British establishment in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries. Notwithstanding, in pushing off the revolutionary impulse, working people did get some concessions from the system such as old age pensions, which I understand were pioneered in Germany.
