Authorities have arrested a pro-life woman for silently praying outside an abortion clinic in the United Kingdom.
News of Isabel Vaughan Spruce’s arrest comes amid anxieties over the Justice Department’s crackdown on pro-life activists in the United States, such as Mark Houck, a pro-life father arrested for allegedly pushing an abortion clinic volunteer who was reportedly bothering his son as they prayed outside an abortion clinic.
Footage published by Alliance Defending Freedom shows police confronting Spruce, who has been charged with breaking a Public Space Protection Order for praying silently near an abortion clinic on four different occasions in Kings Norton, Birmingham.
The woman stands silently praying as the police approach her and ask what she is doing, after which she tells them that she “might” be praying in her head.
“Are you praying?” He asks her.
“I might be praying in my head,” she responds.

The police then search her, arrest her, take her to a police station where they interrogate her, and charge her with breaking the Public Space Protection Order by silently praying.
“No citizen should be criminalised for legitimate, peaceful activity, even prayer. Isabel’s case demonstrates just how far the state can go if we do not vigilantly guard fundamental rights and freedoms,” Scottish communications officer for ADF UK Lois McLatchie said in a statement.
“Politicians in Westminster and Holyrood should take note as they consider rolling out this censorial measure nationwide—if we truly value civil liberties and fundamental rights it should unfathomable for the law to permit a repeat of Isabel’s experience, let alone endorsed by our elected representatives and rolled out nationally.”

Jeremiah Igunnubole, legal counsel for ADF UK, emphasized that the Police and Criminal Evidence Act of 1984 “permits a constable to search an arrested person ‘for anything he might use to assist him to escape lawful custody’ or ‘which might be evidence relating to an offence.’”
But such searches must be “reasonably required,” he noted.
“We can safely conclude that our fundamental rights and freedoms are in jeopardy if a search of hair is considered ‘reasonably required’ for a suspected crime of praying, even silent prayer,” Igunnubole added. “As the Public Order Bill goes through Parliament, it’s crucial that Isabel’s experience is kept firmly in the mind of MPs. No one should be criminalised for the peaceful, harmless practice of their faith, let alone thoughts.”
In the United States, the Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division has charged almost 30 pro-life individuals with Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances Act violations this year.
The Justice Department has been using the FACE Act to target pro-life activists as a response to the overturn of Roe v. Wade, Associate Attorney General Vanita Gupta said earlier this month.
The associate attorney general described the overturn of Roe v. Wade as a “devastating blow to women throughout the country” that took away “the constitutional right to abortion” and increased “the urgency” of the DOJ’s work—including the “enforcement of the FACE Act, to ensure continued lawful access to reproductive services.”
The Justice Department’s Civil Rights Division enforces the FACE Act, which “prohibits threats of force, obstruction and property damage intended to interfere with reproductive health care services.”
It protects both pro-life pregnancy centers and abortion clinics, as a DOJ official noted to Rep. Chip Roy, R-Texas, last week.
At least 98 Catholic churches and 77 pregnancy resource centers and other pro-life organizations have been attacked since May, but the DOJ has apparently not charged a single person in connection with these attacks. The DOJ has not responded to The Daily Signal’s requests for comment on this point.
Pregnancy resource centers are typically run by pro-life women who seek to offer expectant mothers alternatives to abortion. Such centers provide diapers, baby clothes, and resources for both mothers and fathers, empowering them to care for their child, overcome addictions, build community, and find jobs.

If prayer did not work then the authorities would not care.

Praying is really “preying” to control others. Prayer and voting are both used for evil, to control others. What right do you have to take another’s freedom away because of your own prejudice? What right do you have to control outcome of a woman’s choice to have an abortion? Are you God? If God allows abortion then who are you to stop it? Voting is just another insanity to control others.
If God cared about abortion then why is there so much of it? Or suicide? I do not care for abortion, which is why I do not pay tax, because I do not want my taxes going to stuff I do not like. Should not people pay for their own sins like alcohol, cigarettes, and abortion?

What occurred was I was handcuffed and these things hurt…they are designed to bite into your skin if you move. The police vehicle is very cramped. ….likely on purpose more psy warfare.
Then they strip you down to your underwear then remove and catalogue valuables. Then they give you loose shorts etc.
Next is fingerprinting.
Jail cell is cement walls…a bed with no sheets or mattress..door is steel with narrow vertical window..with a small door to provide food( I was given a lukewarm meat pie that created diarrhea)

Had to hire a lawyer. …..no real charges….but as I said NO criminal record.

Three police to arrest one lady silently praying for the children being state sanctioned murdered. Apparently there is no crime in UK. Thousands should have immediately went to the location and start praying or at least pretending.
I remember, back in the height of the plandemic, in California the Brown Shirts were arresting a lady whose crime was being on the beach. As the cops were arresting her, hundreds of onlookers ran out onto the beach. The cops just threw their hands up and left.

This individual is standing in a PSPO which exists to protect individuals (relating to the clinic) from harassment. It is a legal matter, feelings and emotions having no place in such.

PSPO’s exist to combat anti-social behaviour.
Regardless as to whether this lady is praying in her mind (or thinking positively) or simply available to give advice* to anyone considering an abortion, the PSPO exists to prohibit certain activities and specific behaviours. These activities have to be proportionate. I would have to deduce she is not in breach of the PSPO on that day, however:
According to the police officer the lady is accused of breaching the PSPO on earlier occasions and given she is at the locus it is now easy for them to make an arrest to interview her regarding these allegations.
The officer states: “I need to ask you some questions about today and…”
Regarding “today” – is standing in a PSPO listed as a detrimental activity? I would be almost 100% certain it is not. If not, the police are, as most police are these days, complete and otherwise useless incompetents regarding such, however there is the matter of previous incidents which are alleged.
The problem facing her and the ADF is there appears some earlier history of a breach of the PSPO by this individual so I trust the lady has not been involved within this PSPO previously. If there is compelling evidence of such, the police are doing their job.
I for one will be very interested to hear the outcome of this case and trust the ADF keep us informed of every stage.
*The women I know who have had abortions have stated to me they regret such.

My mother told me she had two miscarriages before I was born. A miscarriage is a polite world for natural abortion. I was raised Catholic and abortion is a mortal sin (I think) as that religion catagorizes sins, minor sins are called venial and major sins mortal. Mortal sins are said to keep you out of heaven.
God created miscarriages or natural abortions as a protective measure against deformity. So if God created abortions are they really that wrong? I do not know, just asking. Then you have the problem with Creation itself, if abortion is so terrible then why did God create life in the first place? Is not Creation evil if abortion is evil? Why create life that suffers?
I am against abortion, and not because of the bullshit I was taught, I think that women should have babies, and that having a baby is fulfillment of love. This state paid abortion mill is really evil, taking away consequences of actions. If you are a woman and you get pregnant, then what do you choose, to love the baby inside or rip it out and toss it in a garbage can? And if you do so, can your heart ever recover from that? I don’t know, just asking.
I joke about my mom’s miscarriages, I say the two before did not want to come into this hell, so they did not incarnate. And because earth is hell, is abortion so wrong I wonder. If you are going to be born and then grow up and find yourself on a battlefield, and ground into hamburger would it have not been better to never be born? I think so. Same is true for all kinds of ruined lives, like the meth addict woman I saw throwing a tantrum yesterday.
I look back on my own life, and I do say it would of been better that I was never born, and if I had known how my life would turn out, then the sensible thing to do would of been to commit suicide as early as I could. A shitty life is not worth living. I would never choose to live my life over again. In fact I would never choose to incarnate into this hell hole. So I do not know why I am here, and I sure as hell do not want to come back.
My big problem is trying to understand why life exists. Why in the hell am I self aware, and I find this horrifying, because life is bad enough as it is, at any time you can be killed, and being self aware, you know you are being killed. A self aware death is far worse than an animal being killed.
Take a rabbit for instance, everything wants to eat them. Snakes, hawks, foxes, will eat baby rabbits. One time as a kid our dog dug up a rabbit nest and the little bunnies screamed as our dog chomped on them one at a time, and that traumatized me for life, because I realized that could be my fate also.
And that makes me believe God is a monster. Only a monster creates a system in which cute little bunnies are killed mercilessly – and God created a system in which billions of rabbits are torn to shreds every year – and that is just on this planet.
