Now that Western virtue-signalers have successfully hoisted the LGBTQ flag over the World Cup, they have decided to turn their critical gaze to race.
While the people of Argentina celebrate the ongoing success of their national team in Qatar, a left-wing writer for the Washington Post chilled the festive atmosphere by dropping a race bomb: “Why doesn’t Argentina have more Black players in the World Cup?”
The response over Twitter from the South American nation was every bit as swift as it was devastating: “Because we are a country, not a Disney movie.” Another tweet from the same account stated, “We are not going to allow any ignoramus to accuse our beautiful country of being racist. Cheap progressivism has no place in Argentina.” That pretty much sums up the general attitude to the woke warriors who won’t be happy until their divisive message reaches the four corners of the planet.

The piece, authored by Erika Edwards, an associate professor at the University of Texas at El Paso, wasn’t helped by the initial incorrect statement that “roughly one percent” of Argentina’s population of 46 million is black.
The Washington Post later issued a correction, saying it was an editing error and noting that “while the number of black people cited was accurate, the percentage was actually far less than one percent and the piece has been amended to state that.”
In other words, there were just 149,493 Black people living in Argentina as of the 2010 census, and that figure alone should make it more understandable why the 26-member national squad is made up entirely of ‘white’ players who, incidentally, the Post writer goes to great pains to argue are not really white after all.
“This history makes clear that while Argentina’s soccer team may not include people of African descent, or perhaps people that most would view as Black, it is not a ‘White’ team either,” Edwards writes in her article, which is in essence a history lecture pegged to the most popular sport in the world.
Essentially, her argument is that once upon a time, Argentina had been made up of many more black people, yet years of European immigration and other government initiatives worked to “erase Blackness from the nation.” Like any colonial nation, Argentina received its initial influx of black people when they were brought in as slaves. Over the centuries, black and indigenous people chose to increasingly mix with, and pass off as, white to escape marginalization, resulting in a country with a rich and colorful mix of people from all over the world. The skin color of these disparate Argentinian racial groups has historically included descriptions like morocho (tan-colored), pardo (brown-colored) and trigueño (wheat-colored).
Edwards points out that Argentina’s most famous football player, Diego Maradona, was a “non-White” morocho who went on to become “the face of Argentine soccer” and, ironically, a “White nation.” Yet when has that fact ever bothered the implicitly xenophobic home crowd? Never.
Is it fair to assume that Argentina is a rabidly racist place, as Edwards seems to believe, because the black population assimilated with the ‘whites’ over the course of centuries? Furthermore, isn’t assimilation between the races, going by the logic of the virtue-signaling mob, an inherently positive thing, the opposite of marginalization and segregation? After all, the depiction of mixed-race couples in commercials, films, and other media are celebrated as promoting equality. Yet the end result of all this mixing and matching is inevitably the ‘erasure’ of ‘blackness’, as well as any other ‘race-ness’. It’s something popularly referred to as a melting pot and seen as a good thing (incidentally, this description is often debunked as a myth when applied to the United States).
Sweden, for example, has allowed millions of migrants from the Middle East to settle in their country, where they have been marginalized into crime-infested ghettos on the outskirts of major cities. These people are not assimilating into Swedish life, and this has become a great embarrassment, if not a national security risk. In fact, the Scandinavian country has just elected a far-right, anti-immigration government to deal with the issue. Again, if the assimilation of minorities into a culture is the ultimate goal, then all this talk about ‘black erasure’ sounds very strange. If and when Arab assimilation occurs in Sweden, will future woke activists decry ‘Arab erasure’ in the land? Perhaps this is what frustrates so many people about this left-wing criticism: Whites, assuming they even exist, seem doomed to condemnation no matter what they do.
But even if Argentina were a country made up of 90% black people, why would it automatically be assumed as racist if no blacks were on the team? As in any profession, athletes should be chosen based on their individual merit and qualifications, not because they fill an equity quota.
Finally, if the racial makeup of Argentina’s national team has not provoked any questions from the people of Argentina, why must a professor from a woke university department in the US make it her business? Perhaps the most galling thing about social justice warriors is that they automatically assume that what appears to be a problem for them must also be a problem for the people they are examining from the safety and isolation of their ivory towers. All this does in the end is sow divisions between people where there are none.

he played football for several small clubs but found talented white boys were often over looked

I was disgusted by the World Cup 4 years ago when France “won” by recruiting players from all over the world. There were about 5 actual French players on the whole team of blatantly non-French niggers, migrants, and mongrels. It was disgraceful and never should have been allowed to happen as it made the whole grand tournament grossly illegitimate.
I love the national teams that have the integrity to actually stick to their native athletes. Argentina’s team is made up of nothing but Argentinians, Mexico’s team is made up of nothing but Mexicans, Croatia’s team is made up of nothing but Croats, Iran’s team was all Iranians, and Japan and Brazil and Korea and… Then you get to mongrelized disgraces such as France, England, Germany, the Netherlands, all f*cking cheating and selling out in a disgraceful fashion.
It really sticks out in the pre-match ritual of the national anthems as the camera pans down the line of players. The camera hits Kunta Kinte, Dindu Nuffin, and Tyrone Kwimnquetrita, and we think quite sarcastically, “Now THERE’S a real Frenchman/Englishman/Dutchman/German for you”…. F*ck off already. If their father wasn’t born in the country, then the migrant should be ineligible to play for that national team. Of course, most niggers have no idea who their father is, so let’s make that their mother.
A beautiful and fitting final would have been Argentina versus Croatia. I hope the team plane for France crashes and kills every one of those lying cheating assholes.

Athletic Bilbao, in the Spanish premier league, only recruit players who are native to the Basque territories of Northern Spain and Southern France. As such, the ethnically exclusive, AFC Bilbao are an anomaly of top-level European football.
Basques are anomalous all round, really. There are, though, historical reasons as to why Bilbao are allowed this special dispensation by FIFA, not the least of which, is that the notorious Basque separatist militia, ETA, survives as the last armed European “terrorist” organization. ETA have abided by a a ceasefire since 2011.

She has the gall to pretend to rewrite the history of another country within the framework of her own bigoted world view, and she is a US citizen. As such she belongs to what is essentially a criminal organization killing people left and right across the planet (especially black and brown people, mind you!), and that is shamelessly colonizing dozens of other countries in Latin America, Europe, Asia, and yes, Africa. I haven’t read her work but as a specialist on Argentinian history I am pretty sure it doesn’t amount to much. Especially since her dissertation was distinguished with some prize, which is always a sure sign the work in question is suspect if not worthless. Such is the way the academic world is organized these days. And the same goes for Nobel Prizes. Do you remember the White House Negro receiving the Nobel Peace Prize within a year after becoming president? We all know how peaceful the guy turned out!
Do not assume Canadians were all cheering for the African-Canadian soccer team, far from it. There was much cynicism among our family members about that. The biggest cheerleaders were the media, such as the CBC(which is anti-white to begin with), and the different levels of government, plus the woke members of a dumbed down society. Here in Canada the haters of traditional white Canada are now working on our game of hockey. Just too many white people(especially young white men), playing hockey. Yes this country is being deliberately wrecked little by little. Otherwise how are the Globalists going to insert their great reset agenda?
In response to Umbra Bellator: Nationality is a tricky yardstick. In 1934 and 1938, Italy won the Football world Championship, beating Argentina. These defeats were particularly painful as some of Italy’s star players were actually Argentinians, since they were born in Argentina, to Italian immigrant parents. Just because Italy has “jus sanguinis” (and Argentina obviously has “jus soli”), these players had double nationality. And apparently, given that the Italian government spent a lot of money and energy to make propaganda (also through sports), they gained more from playing for their parents’ country than for the land where they were born.
Why is the Argentina team so White?
A much better question would be “Why are American teams so Black? Why aren’t NFL teams 3/4 White?”
Makes no difference whether the England team is pure black or pure white because they’ll always be sh1te.
The say ‘diversity is our strength’; yet the more diverse the German national team becomes the more worthless & weaker it becomes..The last 2 World Cups Germany hasn’t made it out of the group stage…yet when it was all or predominantly white they always advanced far in the tournament…

Here in Canada or NHL in general…99.9% of the pro hockey players are ” WHITE “.
In the amateur and minor leagues one will find Asians and Pakis….but as time proceeds…the Asians drop out because of size differentials, and Pakis just bail for different reasons.

I always thought it odd in professional leagues that fans would be so absurdly into their city teams, since practically none of the players on the team would be from that region of a country, let alone that city. I always thought a reasonable rule would be that at least 50% of a roster had to be made up of local players within a reasonable radius. Then fans could actually take real pride in the success of “their” team rather than cheering like imbeciles for nothing but a bunch of mercenaries from far off places.
Four years ago, I wanted Croatia to knock out England and they did, but then the team even more Race-traitorous than England, the French team, beat Croatia. On the other hand, Croatia has a lot of Arab genes, like Bosnia, because of the Moslem invasions and does not exactly have a White football team. North Africans showed in athletics that they are very good at running, e.g. 3;43 for the mile (world record), nearly twenty years ago, and this is important in football, where both sprints and endurance are needed. Morocco had some of the good runners and did well this year in the football
More thoughts about athletics–for a few decades it seemed to come down to North Africa versus Kenya and Ethiopia, who live at altitude and have more red blood-cells, for carrying oxygen, but I just remembered the Atlas Mountains, so it might be the same for the North Africans too. A few rich White athletes used to train at Denver, high up, but most didn’t
