The painting was unharmed?
Simply a lie, unless the painting has some sort of expertly applied clingfilm covering the artwork.
Tomato soup has all sorts of nasty things in it, but acids spring to mind. Calcium Cloride is corrosive, so is citric acid.
You can’t just take the painting down and wipe it over. The contaminant would need to be sent for analysis, and only then can cleaning start. Then you’d need to repair the damage, even if microscopic.
I am no admirer of lofty art, but if I were sole ruler, they’d be shot. But I am not, so 5 years without perrole and pay full costs of renovation. No crowd funding allowed. While I hate the police, New Scotland Yard sign, same penalties. Oh, shock horror, and according many on here, I’m a lefty. lol, lol, lol.

But for these two women, do they know the overall agenda? No, I highly doubt it. They’re just the usual, willing pawns, most likely feeling some kind of guilt for their ‘white privilege’ coming from very wealthy families.
What, however, makes me laugh regarding this incident is that if these fools had bothered to actually do their own research, they’d have found that it was highly likely the oils, used in Van Gogh’s works were from Linseed oil. Had they continued researching they’d find that oil paints are made from other vegetable oils such as hemp, poppy seed, walnut, sunflower, safflower, and soybean oils.
All I see are two, young, incredibly naïve young women, heavily indoctrinated courtesy of a academia that has become heavily politicised.

Of course it was staged, the painting was behind glass and it may be a copy which would not be detectable without removing the glass and photographing it with very good cameras. The real paintings and sculptures are in vaults and Aileen Getty, the grand daughter of J. Paul Getty, founder of one the most lavishly funded art collections in the world would be aware of this. I assumed all of that was known. These pampered protesters were professionally photographed and would have the most expensive legal help ready before it began. It won’t be long before some Muslim or African invader is put up to destroying Cellini’s masterpiece: Perseus with the head of Medusa. That’s why Jews are all for open borders in the nations that Christians built. They despise Jesus.
