I can’t help thinking that today’s method of trying to build people up has jumped the shark. Writing that he’s “highly esteemed” won’t convince anyone that he’s better than the other guy, and if you already think he is, then it won’t make any difference to you either.
Last two weeks of July are both showing 18% overall excess in mortality England & wales., ONS stats. Yes its slowly but surely going UP as it has been climbing UP for the last three months.
I don’t want to scare anyone but this might indicate the coming die-off of some large proportion of the human race.
Is something inexorable now happening? We will know fairly soon.

The NHS gets a trillion pounds every few years and a lot of it turns into BMWs. I heard a Pakistani say he became a doctor because having a prestigious profession would please his father. He did not even pretend to be interested in helping people. To make them help people you would need more trillions of pounds

I’ll bet that many responsible, thoughtful doctors — or even a nurse practitioner… hell, even an organic gardener — would tell you that these pharma products are a very bad idea.

When anyone uses “Professor” or “Dr” etc (unnecessarily) they are basically calling everyone else a c**t. “Professor” and “Dr” are often used beyond their prognosticating remit. E.g. Andrew Kaufman that I really appreciate for his work but prefaces his name with “Dr” when discussing matters that he is not formally qualified in; notwithstanding, I believe he is closer to the truth than say the featured personality.

Argument should be judged by its merits on not made on “authority”. We are in the shit precisely because people believe and defer to in hierarchies dominated by academic and governmental priesthoods.
