Now, granted, my “sampling size” is restricted to the UK…
but I’ve been around the block” elsewhere a few times, and I find it hard to believe that there’s anywhere else on Planet Earth where people are as hypnotised by the media, docile & dumb – yet somehow “know it all” and sanctimoniously self-righteous with it! – as your typical (across all “classes”!) brainwashed THICK Brit

You are absolutely right — on one level: the level of those with ‘their wits about them’. They were the strong-minded people who could not be propagandised, for they assessed the information being blared at them from every mass media outlet, and dismissed it. The others were propagandised, for they could not do these things. They just swallowed the propaganda and did as they were told.
Now, the propagandist seeks to convince of x, y and z. So does the hypnotist. The strategies of both are the same strategy.
You will remember that the successfully propagandised/hypnotised were very hostile to the dissenters. There was no point in putting the dissenting case to them, for that made them flip their lids. Their minds were captured. The captured mind is the hypnotised mind. I would add that it is also the weak mind. And they were the majority during the pandemic. That is scary.
