America is to station thousands more troops in Europe as a new Iron Curtain is drawn to deter Vladimir Putin after his brutal invasion of Ukraine.
At least 100,000 soldiers will maintain a presence ‘for the foreseeable future’ in countries near Russia’s border. They include Romania, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania and Poland, where a new base will built for US Fifth Army Corps.
Two more F-35 fighter squadrons will be sent to the UK with additional air defence systems built in Germany and Italy. Two more destroyers will be stationed in Spain, making a total of six.
At a Nato summit in Madrid, US president Joe Biden said: ‘In a moment where Putin has shattered peace in Europe and attacked the very tenets of rule-based order, the US and our allies, we’re going to step up, proving Nato is more needed now than it ever has been.
‘Together with our allies, we’re going to make sure that Nato is ready to meet the threats from all directions across every domain.’
The announcement came as the defence alliance formally invited Finland and Sweden to join after Turkey dropped its opposition. The offer prompted fury from Moscow, which called the expansion ‘destabilising’ for Europe.
The additional military might is a reminder of the so-called Iron Curtain separating Russia from the West after World War II until the 1990s.
Polish deputy foreign minister Marcin Przydacz said: ‘Something that seemed impossible to many is becoming a fact today. We have a permanent US presence in Poland. It is also a clear signal to Moscow.’
But the pledges fell short of some leaders’ demands, particularly Baltic states Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania which wanted a new garrison of 50,000. Instead, Nato forces there will increase slightly from 7,700 in March to 9,900.
Mr Biden did not say how many additional US troops would be sent as part of ‘enhanced’ rotations in the countries.
And Ukraine president Volodymyr Zelensky questioned why the expansion did not include his country.
‘The open-door policy of Nato shouldn’t resemble old turnstiles on Kyiv’s subway, which stay open but close when you approach them until you pay,’ he told leaders on a video link.
‘Hasn’t Ukraine paid enough? Hasn’t our contribution to defending Europe and the entire civilisation been sufficient?’
He warned them his country needed £4 billion per month plus more weapons right now, adding: ‘This is not a war being waged by Russia against only Ukraine. This is a war for the right to dictate conditions in Europe – for what the future world order will be like.’
Nato called Russia – once a strategic partner – the ‘most significant and direct threat to the allies’ security and stability’.
Secretary general Jens Stoltenberg insisted Ukraine could rely on the alliance’s help for as long as it takes.
He said Nato would have 300,000 troops on high-readiness by 2023 – up from 40,000 – in ‘the biggest overhaul of our collective defence since the end of the Cold War’. The US deployment will increase its European force by 20,000.
And he promised more ‘robust in-place combat-ready forces’ scaled up from battlegroups to brigades on its eastern flank, where the UK will also send 1,000 more troops to Estonia.

Maybe our so-called elites really are getting scared of justice catching up to them? They’ve proven a lot of their weapons systems aren’t really that good in actual war conditions as opposed to trials and exercises where conditions are favourable (nobody’s shooting back for a start). And sending the F-35 seems less of a threat and more of a “let’s see what this thing can really do”, which will be useful trials for the Russians. Israelis using them to bomb Gaza and Syria is slaughter, not combat.
The big question of course is, are these troops being sent as fodder? Starting a war they’re unlikely to win won’t deter any leaders if they think or just hope enough troops stand between them and capture, and in the meantime before total defeat they can run and hide long enough to die a natural death.
Just saying…
Putting hundreds of thousands on a war footing is a very big carbon footprint.
And war is very, very big carbon footprint
Too bad they couldn’t agree on the Minsk agreement.
There’s even a arms race going on now. Or should I say NATO are investing more billions on weapons.
They’re not really green, are they?
Ground troops? Yes! They’re conserving seamen.

Inspiring thoughts Thank you.!
Amazing, all the aggression, lies and this clown Zelensky coming from the American/NATO side, yet Russia is portrayed as the bad guy. If the NATO side and all its supporters don’t grab some morality, WW3 is certain. This resembles more and more the machinations to get Germany into a war, pre WW2, that Germany neither wanted or started.
Thirty years ago, under Gorbachov-then-Yeltsyn, Russia was crushed. Even its aeroplanes were falling out if the sky for want of replacement parts, right up into the first decade of the Second Millenium. State coffers were empty; nobody was being paid. Russia was starving. The oligarchs, all Jewish, had seized all state assets, and lived the life of Riley as they fed their extra-national bank accounts lavishly. The vast natural resources of Russia were stuffing the economies of the West.
This did not just ‘happen’. Someone did it: the Central Bankers, led by Rothschild. Putin beat them off. It took him barely ten years to stand Russia firmly on healthy economic feet, and give the Russians a high standard of living. Now, NATO, the army of the Central Bankers, is setting itself up along Russia’s western border, in Finland and Sweden, and in the failed states of the former USSR, Poland, Ukraine, Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania.
I don’t think anyone is likely to deny that things are as I described them above. Yet the vast MSM-devouring crowds of ths world bellow that Russia is the ‘brutal aggressor’, and want this great country smashed into subservience. What the hell do these cretins expect to gain?
As a Russian spokesman observed several years ago when NATO trumpeted creating a new armoured division on the Russian border … ‘One bomb. No problem’.
It probably hasn’t occured to THICK Brits that “Ukraine” is just a pretext for ZOGUK’s war on….. THEM!
It always amazes me as to how easy it is to get the goyim to march off to do the killing and the dying.

No one can deny your review of post-USSR Russia because every word of it is fact. The fact that Putin was able to beat back the oligarchs who were robbing Russia blind and stripping her of her vast resources, regain control of those resources and industries for the benefit of the country, and restore Russia to a world power again in just 10 years makes Putin, in my mind, the most remarkable political leader of this century. He is by far the most intelligent, most capable and competent statesmen among all the other heads of states that have come and gone since he took power in Russia. This also speaks to the remarkable human resources of that nation, since Putin could not have made his remarkable achievements without the talent, competence, and energy of the Russian people. So far, Putin is the man of the century.
Americans have millions of criminals to go after at home but they always set their angry sights on someone innocent and thousands of miles away, which suggests cowardice and stupidity
modern soldiers are only for occupation .
wars are today made by missiles + most
vulnerables are civilians (see palästina; irak)
NATO is really the Askenazy / Khazar Mafia jew army, seeing as they have no nation state; it’s their thugs in uniform, .
Most of the so called ‘jews’ today are in fact not real jews at all; they’re name stealers; took the creed back in the 11th century in what was then Khazaria; Ukraine; and they were shunned and hated everywhere they went for their child sacrifices and cruficixions; they insisted on people paying tax to go through their country; eventually their country was taken from them but they spread far and wide and now are the Rockefeller, Rothchild, in the British Royalty, were in the Russian royalty – basically they’re in the air; the only thing going for us is their laziness and dependence on our input – and they’ve gone FAR too far THIS time – oh, so evil; hundreds of millions dying from their poison, and the Black Death was theirs, poisoning the well; so they’re not really jews, there’s no many of those real Jews around, apart from Spain
There is no evidence that Boris Johnson is Jewish as such. However … he is part Turkish, which means that in part he hails from the Khazaria/Armenia area and therefore carries the same rotten genes as the Ashkenazi. He is also distintly related to a number of decadant and thoroughly Jew-ridden European dynasties. This explains his total amorality.
