A missing Pablo Picasso painting was spotted at the home of the Philippines’ controversial former first lady — as she celebrated her son’s presidential victory, according to a former official familiar with the artwork.
Imelda Marcos — the widow of late Philippine dictator Ferdinand Marcos — was filmed hugging her son, Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., in footage that aired this week with the apparent long-lost masterpiece “Reclining Woman VI” hanging on a wall behind them.
The bombshell in the background was broadcast in a news segment by the local station TV Patrol Tuesday after Marcos Jr. became the country’s next president in a landslide victory.
A former official for the country’s Presidential Commission on Good Government — a task force created to recover the one-time authoritarian family’s ill-gotten wealth — said the painting was one of roughly 160 pieces of art allegedly acquired illegally by the Marcos family during their more than 20-year reign.
The abstract painting — which depicts a woman lounging on a couch with a hand on her forehead — appeared in a 2019 documentary about the Marcos family, “The Kingmaker,” before it went missing as the task force hunted for it, said former PCGG chairman Andy Bautista.

How did this get on here? If could be a copy. It could be real, but it’s only a painting, and it only has value, because of filthy rich. Think about the sheeple who are going to make an absolute fortune because of the MIC, and let’s say one of these sheeple goes out and legally buys a Picasso. This sheeple would be just as guilty as Marcos, assuming the painting is genuine.

Although Picasso produced really good pencil drawings I never got into his paintings. Maybe he didn’t really have the finesse with a paintbrush like Salvador Dali had so he stylised his paintings to hide that? Just because he could draw doesn’t mean he could paint.
I think one modern artist who came along at the right time (1928-1987) was Andy Warhol, who had the drive and charisma to succeed in the swinging 60s, but I think he developed his moody persona to hide the fact he had no real artistic talent. He produced his paintings of Marilyn Monroe and a can of Campbell’s soup [!?] by projecting their images onto the back of a screen which he then painted. And he once made a film without editing it. That’s not art, that’s just “stuff”.
Good artists don’t seem to make it nowadays and can only sell their work to local art shops. I’ve bought a couple of nice pieces, but I suspect like black rap taking over today’s music scene it’s not what modern artists can do but what they’re prepared to sell their souls for. “Talent’s no good, lass. Give us tawdry!”

But Tracy got fed up and had them reduced, Saatchi in anger cut off from her
and these crap art exhibits by Tracy Emin and Damian Hurst which we were told were selling for high prices, were discovered all burnt in a London warehouse fire, they had not sold at all
but Saatchi collected well on the insurance and that helped him to overcome the loss
of Tracys gorgeous 32 G cups.

Very interesting, Cathy – one of my many jobs in the 1980s was Messenger Boy in the City of London at the height of the boom – one of the major rich-rich-rich banks had a giant Gilbert and George piece of Nothing displayed very prominently as you went in – nobody would ever comment on it or appear to notice it , because you DON’T notice Modern Art, do you?
But it would have raised Gilbert and George’s stock to Wealthy Retirement for the next 5000 years.
