Russia has begun mass producing the S-500 air defense system, the manufacturer has revealed in an interview.
The general director of Almaz-Antey Concern, Yan Novikov, told the Russian news magazine National Defense that the system is on schedule to enter service, adding that it will “significantly exceed the capabilities of previously created air defense systems.”
The first unit entered service in September after completing trials. Serial delivery is scheduled to begin in 2025, according to Russian state defense manufacturer, Rostec.
While announcing the system’s induction, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Yuri Borisov clarified that the system is still not fully matured and requires further “configurations.”
Can Intercept Hypersonics
The S-500 uses a combination of surface-to-air missiles to “defeat all possible means of an air and space attack,” such as aircraft, drones, spacecraft, cruise, ballistic, and hypersonic missiles.
It has a stated range of 600 kilometers (373 miles) and can intercept up to 10 targets simultaneously.
Moreover, the system’s “jam-proof” radar is more powerful than the S-400 and can operate longer than others. It’s capable of detecting threats in near space from a range of up to 2,000 kilometers (1,243 miles).

While the S500 is a next level system, it should be viewed in context with all the other S-systems and the rest, because they all work together. It’s just a shame they don’t have it now, but I suspect, that some S-400 units will be upgraded so they come close to the S500.
The problem with these systems is that if the other guy has more bombs than you have ‘interceptors’ then you lose — so you end up making ten times more than you need. Someone needs to invent something that makes the ‘enemy’ bombs blow up of their own accord. Or better yet, makes them turn around and return to base.
It’s weapons systems like this that make it very risky for the US to get involved and show up their F-35 for the boondoggle it is. Ask the man from Lockheed what they can do to improve it and all he can say now is we can polish it a bit brighter.
If the US gets involved I’m sure it will mostly rely on its older, proven aircraft like the Tomcat, Eagle and Falcon. They’ll probably say, “An inferior force like Russia’s doesn’t warrant the F-35”, but I’m sure they’ll use it when it’s not raining and there are no Russian fighter jets within closing distance. It’ll be a shit-and-run sortie on a gun battery without anti-aircraft artillery etc, though that’s not the story we’ll be told.
Surely some “well-placed” nukes – in Western capitals – would pre-empt the need for “mass producing S-500s”… no?
This – and the introduction of Sarmat and other systems – is what prompted the West to accelerate the launch of its Ukraine operation.
It’s 1939 again – the British knew that the Germans were expecting to be attacked in 1943, so German rearmament was aimed at being complete by that date. So the british were desperate for war before then – hence the Polish provocation.
Lasers travel at Mach 870K and their new and improved A.I. sharpshooter can hit a gnat’s eyelash at 50K miles so the future for hypersonic missiles (and pretty much everything else walking, crawling, swimming and flying) looks iffy at best come high noon..
Anonymous: I don’t agree. The US and to a lesser extent, the UK, were in the depression years, and despite this, US and UK corporations were pumping huge quantities of money into the German war machine. These stories today that NATO inventories are low, poppycock. They’ve sent old stock, toys that bounce off Russian tanks.
As I’ve said in many previous comments, WW2 and WW3 players have switched or changed. Russia is the new UK, China is the new US. The US is the new Germany, and the UK is the new Japan. Its not a perfect fit, but its close, and a good way to understand WW3.
Both the US and UK went into UKraine in 2014, Russia is now doing what the UK did for Poland in WW2.
Just as Japan was building an empire in indo-China before WW2, the US engineered Pearl Harbour. The new Pearl Harbour is Taiwan.
As best as I know, Hitler was a British agent. This time, I don’t think they have this pawn in play, but I could be wrong, and if they do, I’ve no idea who it is. Maybe is Zelensky? lol
The one thing I am 110% sure about, is that the current play, is all about the City of London Crime Cartels, & Wall Street Mon ending the threat posed by the BRICs, but specifically, China and Russia. I posted comments about this, and this coming period of time, on this site 20 odd years ago, and for the life of me, I can’t see them, so maybe they’ve been removed. I’m not blaming the Editor, because I am sure the deep state gets around the thetruthseeker website as easy as I can open a bottle of red wine.
“Serial delivery is scheduled to begin in 2025”. They may want to expedite production of the upgraded air defense as the rabid frothing maniacs in the Jewnited States and Jew-K fomenting war with Russia to further distract the plebs and ignorati from recognizing the evil machinations of organized Jewry as they degrade and destroy everything in sight.
What I don’t want is for Russia and USA to conspire to nuke Europe, as talked about in the 1980s. It happens a lot that a problem between A and B somehow gets C flattened, with Jews being found in the “somehow”.
Lewis Jones: US/UK want the EU trashed. Russia wanted trade. I don’t believe Russia wants the EU ruined, but recent Russian media suggest this is changing, or has changed.
hp: light is fast, but the system before it fires
is too slow. So the system is searching and calculating, then targeting, and the hypersonic weapon has gone. Also, these hypersonic weapons take off, climb, then descend, and proceed to target at very low altitude. Similar to a cruise missile, but much faster.
When Russia hit NATO camps in Northern UKraine, NATO only knew they’d been hit after they’d been hit, in other words, radar and other detection systems were useless.
Maybe a laser system would work if the laser just heppened to be under the flight path and was looking in the right direction, just maybe it could bring it down. The problem with Sarmat, is that it’s a very fast ICBM, with counter measures, and the war heads can make alarming changes in direction during the closing stages. This is why Putin is so confident about these new weapons
Serial delivery is scheduled to begin in 2025,
Too bad they wont get to use them. It will all be a smoking ashtray by then
So before the S-500 hits the market I wonder how many Israeli F-35, F-16, F-15 have been shot down by the S-300 and S-400 systems even as Israel has flown and struck with impunity throughout the ME the last 3 years. Pretty sure the answer is zero (aka) the proof of the pudding.
hp: an F35 was damaged by a 40yr old Syrian rocket. The simple answer is that these systems are there to stop a big attack.
The main reason why is appears Israel can strike at will, is because these systems are in passive mode. If Israel sends in a couple of planes and the Syrians turn on their advanced defence systems, the Israelis can test these systems, and probe for weaknesses. Don’t give Israel free training.
Carl, thanks for your concern but I rather doubt you or I could teach the neo-Israelis anything. What I said about their flying F-35 throughout the ME striking with impunity is and should be obvious common knowledge to even the average bear. Should it not? To paraphrase Mencken; it’s waaaay better to know than to not know.
The very uncomfortable fact of Zero shoot-downs of either F-35 or F-22 by S-300 or S-400 are just that, facts. Not imagined conspiracy or wishful thinking or stubborn denial. Every week after week it’s Israel strikes this, Israel strikes that and these are just the (?) attacks we hear even a little bit about.
Attempts in establishing a coherent line of ciphering / predicting while omitting even small facets of known pertinent data is not goodand it isn’t, then what to say of uberr-critical data like this? Any conjectures omitting the facts is basically doomed to lop-sided error.
But on a positive note I’m pretty sure the Real Fact Checking A.I. would never allow you or me to do that and I guess that’s a good thing..
