Google claims that it has disabled a feature within its document editor that was correcting language to make it ‘more inclusive’, but only while it refines the tool to make it work more effectively.
As we reported Monday, Google Docs was trialling ‘inclusive warnings’, which act like a language checker, suggesting that users refrain from using terms such as ‘policeman’ or ‘landlord’, because they are gendered, and words like ‘fierce’ and ‘annoyed’ for being threatening.
Critics (even ones with rainbow flags in the bio) compared the move to the Ministry of Truth from Orwell’s 1984, policing language and making sure that its Newspeak is implemented whenever necessary.

Now, following the backlash, The Daily Wire notes that Google is pausing the tool.
Google spokeswoman Jenny Thomson told the outlet that “inclusive language suggestions—an assisted writing feature—can over or undercorrect certain phrases. We’re looking more carefully at the inclusive language suggestions and have paused those for further review while we continue to improve this feature.”
In a creepy admission, Thomson noted that the feature is “a form of AI that uses language understanding models, based on millions of common phrases and sentences, to automatically learn how people communicate and suggest changes.”
In comments to the Telegraph, Big Brother Watch’s Silkie Carlo urged that “Google’s new word warnings aren’t assistive, they’re deeply intrusive,” adding that “This speech-policing is profoundly clumsy, creepy and wrong, often reinforcing bias.”

The purpose of Newspeak was not only to provide a medium of expression for the world-view and mental habits proper to the devotees of Ingsoc, but to make all other modes of thought impossible.
There was no vocabulary expressing the function of Science as a habit of mind, or a method of thought irrespective of its particular branches. There was, indeed, no word for ‘Science,’ any meaning that it could possibly bear being already sufficiently covered by the word Ingsoc.

Some anthropologists and linguists believe we developed our much wider languages not solely as a means to communicate but in order to think and plan. Imagine thinking about what you’re going to do during the long winter nights if you only know a couple of hundred words, most of them to do with family and food. You need a good vocabulary just to think properly.
Now the elites want to take us back aeons. I think part of their plan is to expunge words we use when we think of them: corruption, graft, grift, kickbacks etc. All those hurty words. Maybe they hope we won’t be able to think bad things of them if we don’t have the words; which is pointless, really, because we’d just invent new ones to describe what there is no longer a word for.
Without ‘audience’ participation all these silly so called ‘services’ would wither on the electronic vine..

Eh? You don’t need words to think. If you did, anything you didn’t know the word for would be inpossible to think about. You can easily think “that big thing I don’t recognise needs to go”. Also, why on earth do you think people from the past had less words? I bet they had more — because they didn’t spend their entire lives going between one brick box and another. This obsession with “modern” being “better” is laughable. What is “better” today than it was 300 years ago? Anything you can come up with is unnecessary. And everything that is considered a masterwork today comes from the past.
Has “AI” even been taught to spot irony yet? Some people use it all the time to fool the robot.

What in the actual f*ck, “inclusive language suggestions”?!? That is not only festering tripe, it also has the stench of evil emanating from it.
The solution is simple, and Chesterton mentions it above: stop using Jewgle. There are plenty of alternative services, so simply stop feeding the beast. To take that further, I would love to see executives and major shareholders of Jewgle dragged through the streets by their ankles, have the piss literally beaten out of them, and shoved into dank cells for the rest of their miserable, evil lives. And whatever jackals came up with and programmed the “inclusive language suggestions” should be flayed right in front of the Jewgle headquarters.
From Black Americans has spread the new Corporate insistence on making adjectives into nouns and nouns into verbs, e.g “make amazing happen” or “in search of fantastic”, and there is even another layer to the abuse. The people doing it know perfectly well what good English but they cheesily squat to provide their bad example.
