If you listen to the global warming fanatics, one of the things they cannot stop talking about is the alleged melting of the Antarctic ice shelf, which they claim is occurring because of cow flatulence and people eating meat. The truth, however, is that the Antarctic ice shelf is growing overall, not shrinking.
Climate change alarmist Greta Thunberg, for example, tweeted that the Antarctic ice shelf, which is “nearly the size of Los Angeles collapsed as temperatures soared to 40 above normal” during a recent heat wave. Thunberg linked to a fake news article from CNN that backs her claim.
Former Mediaite senior columnist and talk radio host John Ziegler quickly put Thunberg and CNN in their place by pointing out that Antarctica just had its coldest winter on record, which was ignored by most major media outlets in favor of the alarmism narrative.
“Climate alarm is based on ambulance-chasing commonplace events, making up fake statistics about them, and never permitting an honest scientist to weigh in on the discussion,” added Tony Heller of Real Climate Science to the conversation.
Antarctica has been cooling and growing more ice for the past 40 years
In a lengthier piece about the subject, Heller wrote that all of the freaking out about the breaking off of the ice shelf is just nonsense meant to scare the uninformed and easily mind-controlled who believe everything the “experts” tell them.
It turns out that eight years ago, the shelf cracked as well, stranding expedition ships amid large blocks of floating ice. There are times when temperatures increase, resulting in breakage, followed by times when temperatures decrease and cause them to reform.
This is how the climate works, by the way: It is an ebb and flow of temperature fluctuations throughout time that cause ice to melt and refreeze, and is nothing of concern.
Listening to the likes of CNN, however, one is led to believe that this most recent ice breakage is a catastrophe that requires the elimination of all fossil fuels and the replacement of all real meat with synthetic alternatives like Beyond Meat, in which billionaire eugenicist Bill Gates holds a large stake.
Heller also challenged the notion that Antarctica’s recent temperature increase can even accurately be described as a heat wave since the temperature increase that occurred there in 2014 was roughly the same.
“So according to climate experts, history began after the year 2014 and the melting point of ice is now -12 C. Icebergs break off East Antarctica regularly,” he wrote.
Another false claim of the climate alarmists is that sea levels will rise because of the ice breakage, which defies basic, high school-level science in every way.
Dr. Brian Galton-Fenzi, a glaciologist, responded to this claim with the following:
“The calving will not directly affect sea level because the ice shelf was already floating, much like an ice cube in a glass of water.”
It really is as simple as that, but apparently the experts at CNN forgot what they learned in high school science class (or perhaps they flunked out?).
In essence, this alleged “climate disaster” in the making is really just climate mitigation, a normal process that is occurring not because of some heat wave, but because of record snowfall.
In actuality, Antarctica has been undergoing 40 years of cooling and ice expansion, despite what the corporate-controlled media and the climate alarmists are claiming.
“Official data reveals that East Antarctica, which covers two thirds of the South Pole, has cooled 2.8C over the past 4 decades, with West Antarctica cooling 1.6C,” reported Climate Depot about this phenomenon.
“It stands that only a tiny slither of Antarctica (the Antarctic Peninsula) has seen any warming – statistically insignificant warming, at that – but there are no prizes for guessing which region the MSM (mainstream media) focuses on.”

The ice shelf spreads and some breaks off at the edges in spring; the ice would only melt if the continent migrated away from the Pole. The surface temperature of it is between -10 and -60 degrees Celsius and I imagine the ice is colder inside, so a few degrees of extra heat would not melt it. I wonder if FE now pollutes the comments.

Captain Cook and James Clark Ross sailed for 3 to 4 years and over 100,000 Km trying to find an opening in the perimeter ice wall. If they had been sailing around a continent on the bottom of a ball, their journey would only have been a small fraction of that distance.

Why would you need a detailed description of the moon phases ? You’ve seen them your whole life. The phases have nothing to do with the earth’s shape . It emits its own light and goes through its phases irrespective of earth and sun. It’s not reflected sunlight . Moonlight is actually colder than in shade of moon , opposite of sunlight. I’ve used laser thermometer numerous times to confirm this. Try it yourself. An object in direct moonlight is about 3 degrees F colder than in shade. Explain this anomaly. Reflected sunlight wouldn’t be as warm as direct sunlight , but it certainly wouldn’t make objects colder.
There are some lunar cycles where sun and moon are in sky at the same time. and you can see the portion of the moon illuminated does not correspond to the position of the sun For instance if there’s a half moon , the sun should be in a position in the sky perpendicular to the center line separating dark and light portions. It doesn’t match up because it’s not reflected sunlight.
Why don’t you prove the globe ? NASA’ s photos of ball earth from space are poor quality artwork with intentional anomalies to f ## k with us. e.g, North America is drastically different sizes in two photos of the same scale.
We don’t have to go any further than the natural characteristics of water to disprove the globe. Oceans would have to sit on convex surface , rivers flow uphill etc. We know based on observation and experience that’s not possible. A child understands this. Stars and planets are self luminous and very close to us. Stars are not distant suns and planets are not terra firma entities like earth. They are completely different in nature than what establishment PSYence tells us.

Markie– Why oceans and rivers on a ball,?, because it takes a big mass for gravity to start having an effect and it barely happens on objects we can handle. I think masses do not start going spherical until a few hundred miles diameter and this will indicate how big things need to be to hold water (but I see gravity as a push shadow caused by mass, not a pull, as it’s simpler this way). Small objects on Earth are subject to the Earth’s gravity; you should not be getting this wrong as an adult.

No gravity needed.
RE: tides in the atmosphere — When you’re at the beach and the tide is going out, do you see the clouds all being pulled in the same direction ? If you fell asleep on the beach with tide going out , why wouldn’t it pull you out with it.
Human body is 3/4 water with similar salt content to ocean. Think of all the weight of the water being pulled out . A cubic meter of water weighs a thousand kilos , but moon’s alleged gravity doesn’t pull anything else on the beach with the water. Why don’t lakes have tides ? Does the moon’s gravity not affect them. The Great Lakes in USA are like small oceans, but no tides.

Thanks to that website and your guidance , logic , and incisive analysis, I’ve been brought back to reality. I will no longer trust my own eyes , common sense and experience when trying to understand the nature of my existence on Earth. Who am I to question NASA , modern astronomy.and earth science. What arrogance on my part to not trust such authoritative sources . This has also brought me to the conclusion that :
– Governments never lie
– Everything the media tells us is true
– Everything we were taught in school is true
– The pharma industry wants us to be healthy

Markie (again)–some people are clever; they used the big distance we travel in six months to the other side of the sun to get a perspective on distances between stars, like when an owl moves its head to gauge distances. That is called parallax. If you want to know how they know the distance to the sun you only have to read a history of astronomy. Colin Wilson wrote a good one (“Starseekers”).

You would never be able to see the light from stars if they were at trillions or quadrillions of Km away. Light dissipates with distance according to inverse square law. Even at a small fraction of the star distances they give, the light would never reach us. Next time your out on a clear night , look at a high altitude plane flying over with its beacon flashing. Compare that light to a star nearby. If you use your own senses and depth perception you can see the stars are not that much further up than the plane. The plane is 10 Km up , and maybe the stars are 100 Km up . They’re right on top of us. We’re all brainwashed to believe they’re quadrillions of Km away.
