Listening to the eye-opening interview with Scott Ritter linked above, I was struck by how MASCULINE the Russian game plan is.
The Russians perceived a threat to home and hearth from corrupt Nazi-ridden Ukraine and acted decisively. This is what real men do.

They planned this invasion years in advance by first boosting their nuclear capability.

Finally, they defined reasonable goals: De-nazification and demilitarization of Ukraine, neutrality and acceptance of the loss of Crimea and the Donbass.
Ukraine had crossed their Red Line. Back off or face invasion.
They presented this ultimatum to the West.

I’m not sure why Augustin is so upset with Mike D.
I can see why he might disagree with some of Mike’s opinions. I share Augustin’s skepticism of I.Q. tests, for example. Cognitive aptitude is just one aspecting of the expression of the spectrum of human intelligence. Ghost Who Walks “Bebop” comment is really nice.
Mind you, an I.Q. of 176 is rather impressive, whatever the limitations of the test itself.
Either way, however, I don’t think Mike D. is conceited and arrogant, as accused, at all. Compared to some of our other posters, he’s a blushing bride in bobby socks.
Conceited people are generally halting in their recognition of the contribution of others and praise is a difficult thing for them to dispense. I can think of a couple or three occasions now, when Mike D. has been very kind about my posts. His supportive words have not gone unappreciated on my part, which is why I write, despite it being a personal disputation, really.

Craig at FTFE says he scored 187 so he will not be arguing that the test is meaningless, BUT he is fully vaccinated, so PI, political intelligence, is a factor too. Our attention can choose what to “major in”, as Americans say.
