Did Religion Evolve, or Was It Designed, to Foster Cooperation?
Harari’s conjecture — “There are no gods” — is not just a piece of inconsequential trivia about his worldview — it forms the basis of many other crucial claims in the book. This naturalistic assumption permeates Harari’s thinking.
For example, Harari assumes that religion evolved by natural processes and in no way reflects some kind of design or revelation from a God. In fact, one of his central arguments is that religion evolved when humanity produced “myths” which fostered group cooperation and survival. Harari spends a lot of time developing this argument. Thus if Harari is correct, then religion was not designed, but is a behavior which evolved naturally because it fostered shared “myths” which allowed societies to better cooperate, increasing their chances of survival. This view grows out of his “no gods in the universe” perspective because it implies that religion was not revealed to humanity, but rather evolved.
Harari is undoubtedly correct that shared beliefs — or “myths,” as he pejoratively calls them — facilitate group cooperation, and this fosters survival. But this is an observation about shared beliefs, myths, and religion, not an explanation for them. And it is quite easy for a design-based model to account for these observations in a manner that requires no unguided evolution. Here’s what it might look like:

As a homosexual this man has stepped outside the usual norm in nature of propagating one’s species so he has recused himself from judging what humans could and shouldn’t be. Maybe if he’d fathered children to continue our species, something he can never do when coupling with another man, he might have earned himself a position to talk about the further improvement of humanity. As for those who have religion, they have no concept of what the creation is about.

The rest for the most part have behaved as if the truth is entirely relative to various interests, as if there is no God, no soul or anything spiritual, and that there is no free will. I have said repeatedly that without the facts disclosed in relation to our vital interests, or anything for that matter, there is no freedom, because without the facts there can be no free will for any responsible decision making. They are just abstract thoughts to most people because God and his transcendent realm have been kicked clean out of the body politic, the media, the schools, the courts, and even out of most of our religious institutions. The present pope right now appears more concerned about redistributing the wealth of the world in some insane idea of equality rather saving souls. He could also be a force for justice simply by condemning the dishonest means the filthy rich got their wealth. I tend to think of him now as the biggest heretic on the planet because in the misguided build-back-better creed which he, and compatriots such as Harari, Schwab, Biden, Obama and others subscribe to, he appears to be more busy with various bishops tearing down his own religion thinking that a better one-world religion under the control of various state powers and secular potentates will rise from the ashes. When you say “freewill” you are actually aiming for “independence” and that has to do with “power” and not “freedom”, precisely because we need “willpower” to be able to choose beyond the mundane, immediate, base-desire, and pressing primal drives.
What is a “choice”? If you had to choose between Shit on one hand and Chocolate on the other, would that be a choice? If you told your mom that you didn’t eat shit would she praise your intellect and understanding?! Similarly if you do not end up in hell how much should God reward you!? The whole purpose of logic and reasoning power is to be able to see and choose the best spot in heaven! To choose better among good. As they say hell is hot enough that can be avoided with just senses.
Say you are dangerously overweight and can’t stop eating because you feel an incredible resistance and you can’t “break free” from it but more accurately you are “dependent” not just on food (a reasonable amount) but on continuous eating of food, and this dependence has been developed because of a certain life-style over time; so you have lack of “willpower” to move, you are too dependent/slave to be able to look further ahead, beyond the immediate concerns and see the greater pleasures in the distance, indeed even huge objects far away can appear far smaller than tiny things that are in your face! So what is dependence? Is it real or artificial? If you don’t eat food for days you can still survive with just enough water. What is the true nature of this dependence? It is love/attraction for the wrong things artificially developed and overgrown keeping you slow or even chained in place. How do you let go?! That’s the problem, while our souls can instantly click back to correct factory settings, our physical bodies need time to recover… and many don’t have the willpower to walk their bodies out of the habit! The damn dopamine-saturation means you need a lot more of it to get the same effect when you were normal. Similar to insulin-saturation in blood, the only way to fix it is dry fasting. And stress causes this viscous cycle that keeps your body in the fear mode (short term planning) and so it only burns the fastest fuel available which is sugar even at the cost of breaking muscle tissue, in such a mode you won’t burn fat nor will you heal or regenerate! If your body had a better driver, say You V2 with willpower to manage, it would unlock its untapped potential. But you are the first version of yourself so you lack Willpower and are concerned with fake satanic shadow concepts such as Freewill and Freedom while you are afraid and disgusted by concepts like “slavery”, “responsibility” and “attachment”, when these are REAL and have a positive beneficial definitions unlike what you’ve been told!
So “making a choice” means you have to decide between attracting options/choices that all appear good in their own right and you have to choose the better one and doing so you sacrifice others. That’s life. Making a choice is painful and if you don’t feel this pain, it is because you are not exercising Willpower and more accurately you are drifting away and floating, your soul that is, a soul that drifts away and does not move, rots! Beyond the seemingly large attractions that have your attention, there are bigger distant attractions that appear small and not attractive so you need willpower to push the noisy and numerous closer attractions away and move towards the bigger pleasures ahead. This is easier as long as it is not too far, for instance you let go off buying crap and save your money to buy something more expensive and valuable later; but when that distant goal or pleasure becomes spiritual or is too far, you will need more work! So we move from current position to the next best position by attaching ourselves/hearts to the pleasures there and by thinking about them, we need to imagine seeing it and eventually we will. Walk next to a dead stone wall every day and eventually you develop a feeling for it with memories too! Blind-believing is logical and has life in it, unlike blind-knowledge, if no by “knowing” we don’t imply “seeing”, then its has very little value.
What you need is the following, this is the skeleton key to get you far in my humble opinion:
1- We “see”, internally and externally, and have varying degrees of sight/vision.
2- We “seek”, gravitate towards things in varying degrees, you can name it loving.
Now both seeing and seeking are functions of the same soul/core so they are intertwined in interesting ways and I think it is very damaging to separate them into heart and mind.
The “see” part is the domain that includes logic, intellect and intelligible, imagination and higher level witnessing, the pitfall here is Duality (explained types of duality and the main problem before).
The “seek” part is the domain that involves intention and believing and the pitfall there is Freewill and Freedom.
So we have many things in common with hedonists and pleasure-seekers of the world, except one thing: We sacrifice smaller pleasures for bigger pleasures “if” they conflict (and they do most of the time!) and we are not blinded by the lesser pleasures constantly attracting us and are able to see beyond! Small pleasures don’t have to be so fancy… in fact the simplest form of pleasure is “comfort” which is synonyms with the fake concept “freedom”. Too much comfort and you are certainly “irresponsible” killing your soul and by extension your body too. Note: One can only sacrifice what he/she loves for a greater love. Any other definition is Satanic, you can’t sacrifice someone else’s life that you don’t love for your own gain! That’s not sacrifice.
The idea that your heart is in the driver seat and your mind is seating next is not the best picture. You are “busy” with lesser pleasures and you need to look beyond and move beyond. This requires moving out of comfort zone and embracing pain of detachment, as you become independent of old attachments/attractions you get attached to new attractions and the process continues until you find God. In this journey you can get help from boredom and emptiness that eventually you discover with your current attachments, but there are better and quicker ways. If we are slaves of God, we better act like one! Slave as in master and slave. Just as children of young age are slaves of their parents… it is not a loving act to “release” your slave prior to having him/her empowered first! There are many unanswered questions… but these are the true lexicon and locution of God in my humble opinion. Not Freedom and Freewill, rather Power and Willpower and we attack and break these idols in favor of independence, while most people do not let go of them and become more dependent on unworthy things every day. Escaping from God’s slavery and becoming slaves of everything else.

So stop hating Slavery in this sense and stop loving Freedom! Freedom is relative, you fix a problem and you consider yourself freed from that problem. Freedom is not an absolute concept. Try with me and say the following:

– Everything is relative – but that is an absolute statement by itself.
And don't forget Nothing is relative but Nothingness is "undefined". Don't waste your time with confusing words and messed up definitions.
Any man and woman that does not develop Willpower composed of ability to see and seek, is destined to visit the purifying flames of hell as a natural consequence and not vengeance (maybe passive divine vengeance)!

To Fred B–it is still true that there is no absolute Right and Wrong, but you would be “wrong” (ill-advised) to walk off a cliff, and that is what the Scum are doing. We can sit and watch them do it or we can advise them against it, but more probably we are forced to fight them later on. We have not fought yet.
To 2 rials–I am more willing to speak of Free Will than freedom, because it is normal to deny it these days in “science”, but I see two Gods, and one of their levels is Inside-Outside, which includes our subjective and objective views. You start with the One-God assumption and build round it, but this is a selfish man, not a God. It pontificates while its wife is in a black bag.
The few real christians are great people, but let me point out the fact that I can replace the christian “god” here with the phrase “human conscience”.
