Russia’s fight in Ukraine is aimed at America and “global liberal elites,” according to Russian ultra-right ideologue Alexander Dugin, who has been called everything from “Putin’s brain” to “Putin’s Rasputin,” as well as “the most dangerous philosopher in the world.” He also warned that a Russian defeat would spell the end of the world.
Prominent Russian philosopher, historian and sociologist Alexander Dugin claimed in an interview with Al-Jazeera on Saturday that Russia faces an existential threat and is thus posed to succeed in the current conflict.
“Russia is destined to win. We have no other choice,” he said. “This is an existential threat to us, so victory is our only choice.”
“After our victory, the world will not be the same as it is today,” he added.

When asked if the fight in Ukraine was ultimately aimed at the U.S., Dugin, whose Foundations of Geopolitics helped reshape the views of Russia’s political and military elite in the late 1990s and gave a new form to old prejudices against the Western nations by means of the “Eurasianist” ideology, replied in the affirmative.
“This is a fight against American hegemony, but not only the hegemony of the Americans,” he said, adding that the current confrontation is also directed against “the global liberal elites who are trying to take over the world.”
In particular, the anti-liberal philosopher claimed Russia is “fighting against the hegemonic totalitarian liberal system, and not against the U.S. as a country, or Europe, or Ukraine as a country.”
“It is a war against (those) principles,” he added. “It is a war of ideas.”
Dugin also claimed Russia was seeking to provide other nations with their right to “self-determination.”
“We are fighting against the liberal world order, and in order to provide other nations and cultures with the right to self-determination, rather than being puppets of the Americans,” he said.
According to Dugin, had former President Donald Trump remained in power, the current scenario would never have unfolded.
“If Trump were still in power, all of this would not have happened,” he said. “He was realistic and refrained from exerting pressure on us. He did not care too much about Ukraine or the spread of NATO.”
Asked about President Vladimir Putin’s role, Dugin stated that the Russian president is somewhat “in the position of monarch or an emperor,” noting that Qatar — where al-Jazeera is is based — which has a monarchy, “is doing very well” and “there is nothing wrong with that.”
“Putin is a natural monarch, not because he wants to be a monarch, but because we want him to be one,” he said.
“This is a popular monarchy by popular demand,” he added. “We want him to be a monarch and to become the embodiment of the Russian state and spirit.”
Ruling out the possibility of defeat “because that cannot happen,” and if it did then “there will be no Putin, no Russia, and no world, as far as I know, because we have put everything on the line,” the nationalist Russian philosopher warned of the importance of listening to Putin regarding a possible nuclear attack.
“If NATO intervenes, the retaliation will be in kind,” he said. “Therefore, the decision to continue with the operation to our last breath has been taken, and we have no choice but to win.”
Asked to clarify if he was warning that a Russian loss would result in Russian nuclear strikes, a subsequent nuclear holocaust and the world’s end, Dugin confirmed that that is “exactly” the case.
“These are the words of our president,” he said. “Without Russia, there is no humanity.”
“If you want to live on this Earth, you should accept Russia as an independent sovereign superpower.”

In my view when you use such a statement to support your view that only established nations such as Iran have a right to exist but other ones such as Saudi Arabia do not, it is not a very convincing argument, and you seem to miss the point of what is really going on in the world right now. The idea of basic rights and freedoms to protect the integrity and self-determination of any individual person or nation certainly is quite foreign to Islam and you take that away, and its actual source which is the essential divider between East and West and all you get is tyranny, which is exactly what the Godless secular-humanist Marxists and fascists are up to. If I was not trying as best as I can, despite my rather impassioned and quite imperfect nature, to be a Christian, I would be busy with the globalists walking over the faces of the sheeple and especially the Islamic ones who have no qualms about forcing people to believe whatever they like, where everywhere you go there is nothing but dour people.
I was always taught that any “ism” is usually an extreme or is simply an unjust caricature by the opponents of a certain doctrine. One can be in their thinking a classical liberal without being a neo-liberal holding to the sanctity of human live and inalienable rights of the human being without being “liberal” with respect to the laws of God and in fact it is only by connection to that higher power both by faith and works that there is any such respect for our basic rights. Very good point about Iran. I personally feel big natural respect and admiration to Iran. I think the Iranian revolution was one of the most if not the most important event in modern history regarding the counterbalance to western/zionist unnatural ideologies (communism, capitalism, liberalism, democracy, etc.) all of them more or less sophisticated, enslaving the mankind and destroying the natural qualities of the people worldwide. I am well versed to approach this topic from multiple directions. But let us consider Freedom of Speech!
hat good is Freedom of Speech if everyone was mute? …or if you couldn’t articulate and form impregnable logical sentences?… or a powerful speech that commanded attention?! Yes… just like free-market, free-speech too is shallow and fake. Clearly if you could spread truth with power, its enemies would limit you and shut you up or ultimately down!
So here is what we have:
1- Freedom of speech or free-speech (you expect it from the external environment)
2- Power of speech or power-speech (you have to earn it and work for it, it is primarily internal)
Now a proponent of Freedom (freedom hugger!) may argue that in order to have any speech at all you’d need freedom of speech first. : ) But that is an unrelated comparison… firstly you need healthy vocal-cords, tongue, mouth and lips, etc… as well as adequate upbringing to be able to speak properly and those are real asset unlike freedom! You need lots of work to be able to form proper sentences and penetrating arguments, these are not achieved over night and by chance, they are certainly not for free!
Secondly this freedom of speech is provided exactly where? In your own room alone you can say whatever you want… everywhere? There are things we shouldn’t say to our loved ones… there are things that should not be said in the wrong times… but we may say them regardless, apparently we usually have the power to say whatever we want whenever we like… and if we can’t it is attributed to lack of our self-esteem and power to speak…(or logical responsibility) because if one is unable to offer a worthy speech then perhaps he should remain silent anyway! So it seems Freedom of Speech has any value if it is provided from an authority such as the government for example.
Imagine you are speaking to a gang leader surrounded by his gang members, trying to ask them not to dump crap next to your home, you are going to say things that they don’t like or agree with… but somehow they are paying attention and willing to hear what you have to say. They are more powerful than you so they are providing Freedom of Speech to you and more importantly they are paying attention too! What good is a freedom of speech if no one is going to pay attention!? In this example you can see that freedom is not a real commodity that they are providing… their “attention” is however! So what exactly is happening here in this context?
The simple answer is the Gang Leader and his fellow people are “sacrificing their power” for your sake!

The whole concept of freedom almost everytime produces confusion, the western understanding of freedom leads to democracy which is nothing but one big fakery. Current democracy is actually heavily distorted and toxic version of ancient and early medieval tribal councils (in germanic Europe – thing, volksthing).
Problem is, that democracy doesn’t respect and doesn’t preserve the natural order and natural leaders (representing God’s authority on earth and serving the God and people), mechanisms of democracy work as a criminal cartels. In democracy there is no place for freedom of speech (only its blatant illusion), no place for any competition, no place for questioning, just the possibility of plain obeying the unnatural authorities. These “authorities” are nothing but enemies of the people, their usurpers and tyrants. Even the western science is already not independent, thus useless, but science itself was always just an ideological tool anyway.

I am fully in accord with the critical importance that you attach to the fragile viability of historically anomolous, politically ordained borderlands. Imperially imposed frontiers, which disrespect local histories, generational kinship and claim, will inevitably, foment resentments among those who are enclaved, which, in turn, will consequence an intensifying intolerance, among the preferred enfranchisées and ultimately, risks internicene warfare (and perhaps wider regional war) among peoples who might otherwise have lived peacefully aside one another, or at worst, only engaged in occasional skirmishing and minor disputations.
The apportioning of borders according to the policing requirements of imperial forces is an ignominy upon the human race. The arming of dynastic tyrants, like the Saud family, is a shameful disgrace upon the West.
The redefining of political geography, as happened in the Middle East, is something which happened in Europe too, you know. Most of the people of the U.K. suffer from the insomnia of a thousand years of Norman/ Hanoverian revisionism of the ancestral history of these isles. The boundaries between Scotland, England and Cymru are artificial. They do not demarcate racial differences. Natives of the U.K. and Ireland are, for the greater part, all from the same Celtic-Iberian stock, the paternal haplotype, R1b. Yet, we drank from the River Lethe and we warred among ourselves, as if we were alien species to one another, for too many hundreds of years. Peace is a rare and precious thing.
I’m of a generation of Britons, who was taught, from earliest primary school class onwards, to beware of, and immediately tell the nearest adult, about any suspicious, unattended luggage or packages that we might happen upon; in train or bus stations and in public places generally; lest the suitcase, the handbag, the satchel or parcel, prove to be a bomb.
Were the world sane, it might be possible to redraw territorial borders, according to a new understanding of our familial histories, based upon D.N.A. delineations. In which case, this island, this windy ridge we live upon, would be returned to its roots, its usurped heritage would be restored and Great Britain would become known, once again, as Merlin’s Corridor; the land of the sons of Prythain or the Island of Britons. Although we are Trojans, we are not called by our name.
I would quibble with the meaning you assign to individualism, within the western tradition. Really, “individualism” is a term popularized by nineteenth-century Enlightenment thinkers and, at the time, essentially, inferred an anti-catholic sentiment. That’s why it was such an important advocacy for the pick ‘n’ mix protestant dissenters of colonial America. The first use of the neologism “individualism” wasn’t until 1820 (in French.)
It’s utility as a counterpoint resurfaced in opposition to the emergence of the collectivist ethos of Bolshevism in the twentieth century. Individualism should not necessarily be accorded the status of foundational principle, per se, (despite its contemporary prominence) because it was essentially a counter-principle originally: a pragmatic antithesis.
Freedom of speech simply describes the lawful right to disagree with someone else. That’s all. If there is no breach of the peace and no harm, injury or loss is brought to another, then by the ancient laws of the Britons, you can say whatever it is you please. When a freedom endures for so long, it becomes ingrained in the consciousness of the people. Britons have native discernment when it comes to, what it means to speak freely, as opposed to speaking incitefully.
Unfortunately, different indices for permissable public discourse, imported from elsewhere, now encroach upon this age-old, nationally fostered precept, diminishing it’s value as both civic pressure-valve and as an abiding principle of law.
You write lucidly and intelligently and it’s a pleasure to read your contributions but in essence, you make the mistake of neglecting the historicity and popular spirit that legitimizes native jurisprudence, with its common understanding of what is acceptable and not, while unsympathetically seeking to redraw known boundaries according to a theocratic critique.
Those who would, for the sake of provocation, seek to besmirch another man’s religion in a public place are ignorant and lacking in moral boundary but the offended party, in seeking the ruffian’s silencing is, by far, the more dangerous of the two.
It is very well understood in neurological science that every action we engage, either proactively and deliberatively, or impulsively and spontaneously, is made by choice.
The same neural pathways are traced each time. When someone is emotionally triggered by someone else’s words, it isn’t righteousness informing the heart of the censorially-intending but a set of choices already decided upon and fully defined of parameter. Where public discourse is interrupted with a mind to end the discussion, it is because the listener, who becomes infuriated, is only listening, to ensure, to his own satisfaction, that his personal list of no-go areas isn’t breached during the course of the oratory. We throw rotten tomatoes and stinky eggs at people; it’s better than cutting tongues off.
