   My grandparents generation knew how to grow food, they passed this info on to their children.

   My generation weren’t that interested in growing food ,younger than me probably even less interested.?

   The local allotment holders are mostly over 60.

   Only a couple of generations and much skills and knowledge is lost.

   Once the food shortages start killing you’d be better off dead. It’s never too late to walk down the street and hang your oppressors, but it couldn’t be more obvious that that’ll never happen. The rich don’t care, and the poor have no balls. If the farmers cared (every one of them a millionaire) then they’d give their food directly to the starving. How likely is that?

   Food rationing has long been on the elite agenda. The first planted articles appeared in the UK press as long as a decade ago. Now they are stepping it up.

   well i have 700 square meters with some fruit trees but all the area is basically a grass plot…is there any chance to convert some 600-650 sq. meters of grassplot into full self-sustainable food growing place for three people in moderate climate? maybe i’m gonna buy some chickens for eggs and two goats for milk and manuring…but still, i will be dependent on buying some fodder for animals…anyway if now isn’t the time to start food growing then when is the time? because we are risking starving to death in near future

   Too many people in the post war world fell for that “Get a college degree, get rich and let the dumb dirt farmers grow your food.”

   Now we see it’s a trap. No land to work and the price of land in many places is beyond the range of people.

   Bill Gates bought up farmland all over the USA. It was NOT because he wanted to grow anything. He’s waiting for the value of the land to make him a billions more than he has now.

   Starvation of the masses is a strategy.

There are ways of growing food like straw-bale gardening and container gardening which is used by people with a small area for production, such as the roof of a tenement block or a small front garden. They grow a range of foods from grains to fruit to root vegetables. Some people increase their growing space and yields with vertical gardening. Prepper and survivalist sites are usually good for grow information and tips and here’s a few video examples.

    It is best to get gardening for the skills, habits, seed bank, fresh air and fitness even if you don’t feel you need to.
