The news conference on Monday by Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland was interesting not for the announcement that Canada was extending its training mission to Ukraine but for the questions and answers about the minister’s grandfather.
There have been a number of articles circulating about Freeland’s Ukrainian grandfather Michael Chomiak and his ties to the Nazis.
Some of those articles have appeared on pro-Russian websites. Freeland, who strongly supports Ukraine and is a major critic of Russia’s seizure of the Crimea, suggested to journalists that the articles about her grandfather were part of a Russian disinformation campaign. (The Russian government sees Freeland as virulently anti-Russian and has placed her on their travel ban).
“American officials have publicly said, and even Angela Merkel has publicly said, that there were efforts on the Russian side to destabilize Western democracies, and I think it shouldn’t come as a surprise if these same efforts were used against Canada,” Freeland told reporters after they raised questions about the articles about her grandfather.
The Globe and Mail also reported that an official in Freeland’s office denied the minister’s grandfather was a Nazi collaborator.
In addition, the claims were dismissed outright by those in the Canadian-Ukrainian community. “It is the continued Russian modus operandi that they have,” Paul Grod, president of the Canadian Ukrainian Congress told the Globe and Mail. “Fake news, disinformation and targeting different individuals. It is just so outlandish when you hear some of these allegations – whether they are directed at minister Freeland or others.”
Well it actually isn’t so outlandish. Michael Chomiak was a Nazi collaborator.
What are the sources for the information that Freeland’s grandfather worked for the Nazis?
For starters, The Ukraine Archival Records held by the Province of Alberta. It has a whole file on Chomiak, including his own details about his days editing the newspaper Krakivski Visti. Chomiak noted he edited the paper first in Crakow (Cracow), Poland and then in Vienna. The reason he edited the paper in Vienna was because he had to flee with his Nazis colleagues as the Russians advanced into Poland. (The Russians tended to execute collaborators well as SS members).

So what was the Krakivski Visti? It, like a number of publications, had been seized by the Nazis from their Jewish owners and then operated as propaganda outlets.
Here is what the Los Angeles Holocaust Museum has to say about Krakivski Visti and a similar newspaper, Lvivski Visti, both publications associated with the Nazi regime.
“The editorial boards carried out a policy of soliciting Ukrainian support for the German cause,” the Holocaust Museum noted. “It was typical, within these publications, to not to give any accounts of the German genocidal policy, and largely, the editions resorted to silencing the mass killing of Jews in Galicia. Ukrainian newspapers presented the Jewish Question in light of the official Nazi propaganda, corollary to the Jewish world conspiracy.”
“In 1943 and 1944, both Lvivski Visti and Krakivski Visti hailed the German-approved formation of the 14th Waffen SS Division Halychyna, composed of Ukrainian volunteers,” the museum pointed out.
So much for Russian disinformation.
On Wednesday the Globe and Mail reported that, “Foreign Affairs Minister Chrystia Freeland knew for more than two decades that her maternal Ukrainian grandfather was the chief editor of a Nazi newspaper.”

Hopefully this will put the cat amongst the pigeons though these NWOers seem to turn everything into grist for their mills, given time. I’ll watch this closely to see if there’s fallout , though I doubt it.Then again these aren’t business as usual times.

If the media and the people in government where accountable to “we the people”, and their priority was to serve our best interests (without any stealth), there would have to be debate on the most relevant issues to the people, taking into consideration the most relevant facts. In such a climate, there would be no privilege based on insider knowledge used to advance the interests of the corrupt Few running things. There would never be any bioweapon flu pandemic infecting the people of our nations emanating from this thoroughly very, very evil top-down cabal.
With the true facts released on issues such as the alleged “man-made” global warming peril, such an issues and all other such pretexts could not be used as pretexts and planks in the agenda for a world government essentially nullifying our control over our nations and over every vital aspect of our lives. There also would be no room for this cabal and all of their hangers on to manipulate and crash the economies of our nations for the same totalitarian ends. There also would be not be the stealth instigation of racial, cultural, religious, and political divisions by organizations funded by monsters such as Soros. There would be a true equality based on shared and equal access to critical knowledge, and not on the fake Marxist doctrine of equalization of ownership of already produced material objects.
Our essential weakness is in the lack of vision in fighting this top-down tyranny being foisted upon us without any recourse now but to fight force with force, leading to more and more polarization and unrest to be exploited in order to divide us, “we the people”, which is exactly what the ruling Few behind the NWO want. We very much seem to be overwhelmed mainly by the dystopian visions of our future set out in both Huxley’s and Orwell’s views, and respectively in their works “Brave New World” and “1984”. These authors could see the trends of the times and what was already taking shape and very much with the idea of the integrity of the individual person being irradiated in the process. However, they never in any of their most popularized works came to recognize those religious factors which were the basis of that integrity and which led to the assertion and the eventually protection of all of the rights and freedoms of the individual person in the history of our civilization.
On the positive side of things we see the long history of this struggle in Western peoples against a host of top-down monarchies, despots, and tyrannies. Now we are witnessing a top-down tyranny using the machinery of a lying and brainwashing media and all the apparatus of government to beguile the people to abandon all of their basic rights and freedoms, while leading the masses to vilify and persecute those standing up for all of their inalienable fundamental rights and freedom.
We have to look at the struggles of our history to know that no past regime or order was perfect, that they were all flawed in some way, but that there was an incredible on-going progress not only from the recognition and worship of the good and loving Creator, but from the fruits of those beliefs in the recognition that we are ALL his children. Despite all of the inducements and lies which past rulers have used to deem the exercise of their powers as “necessary”, there is a history of the truth exposing the errors of their beliefs and their injustices, and if anything there has been until recent times a gradual progression in the spread of human rights and freedoms in concert with a sense of individual honor and responsibility, especially when it comes to being honest.
However, in looking back over the past 150 years we witness not only the mass production of material goods mainly for our betterment and improvements in the standard of living for people everywhere, but we also see in the same period of time the concentration of wealth and power into the hands of fewer and fewer people, who control the mass media and our governments. Not only have they become extremely adept in masking the truth to suit their interests, but they have become almost omnipotent in mass producing that which kills off individual integrity, trust and real unity among us, which is dishonesty. That is the real virus. It is the deliberate spread of dishonesty and the acceptance of dishonesty by the masses, their hallowed rule being that so long as you have the power you have no duty to be honest to your subordinates. As with their toxic vaccines which were never ever necessary to make anyone “safe” or secure, where now they say they have most of the people of West “fully vaccinated”(whether that is true or not we have no real way of knowing), what is most certain is that most of the people, most of the time, are being inoculated by the lies and toxins of the mass media which is owned and completely controlled by this top-down tyranny, and which only is accountable to it, and not to the people for any of their lies and the harms coming from them. The same can be said for all of those fakes and flakes who sit in our legislatures, whose pockets are filled with the IMF fiat and are in fact nothing but a gaggle of sycophants only really answerable to that same tyranny corrupting everything.
To progress in the future we have to return to our religious roots seeking out God and his guidance, but for those why are unable to do that if they be truly people of good will, they at least have to recognize that if there is to be any worthwhile life or civilization mainly focused on the betterment of the individual person through any kind of development, it does have at least have to be based on that belief in the many of the rule of the good, loving, and just God above everyone of us as our model.
In our progress in the West with the truth and the intrinsic worth of each and every individual person, the institution of slavery has largely been irradiated, and more people have prospered than ever could have been imagined two or three hundred years ago. Yet, what we see now occurring is an enslavement of the people to the control of the mass media and the social engineering of our governments, all of which now serve a Godless and corrupt order far removed from the control of the people.
Instead of the visions of the few popularized writers, whose dystopian ideas of modern trends, have been utilized by the establishment mainly to fuel the idea of some logical and inevitable movement in our history, just like Marx, evolving into a top-down totalitarian order, of course run by themselves, our vision for the future of mankind should be much more positive, hopeful, and personally fulfilling. The real trend replacing them however goes beyond visions, and is based in the reality of our own natures, which appears to be more and more of a demand for the decentralized control of over knowledge, wealth and power.
As for our imaginations, it would be better to to set them to work on how things should be and can be, and when it comes to knowledge – that which we strive through our faith and reason and believe to be the true – those who are there to lead and to serve us, have a duty to disclose it without favor, and should have no right to distort it, or to suppress it, in any way, and especially in any matter pertaining to our vital interests or well being. Otherwise what we have is slavery with no real individual integrity or responsibility possible, and we end up endorsing the narrow views of a 1984 or Huxley’s Brave New World.
Freeland’s bio says she was closely followed by Russia’s security forces when she spent four years in Moscow. Then while in Ukraine she gave money to anti-Russian nationalist politicians – irony! – as this was years before she closed the bank accounts of Canadian protestors some of whom she accuses of laundering foreign money. And she has written two books:
Sale of the Century: Russia’s Wild Ride from Communism to Capitalism [2000], which celebrated Russian oligarchs seizing control of Russia’s industry and economy from the communist “red barons”.
