Latest- Sunday night– I was once again at the Convoy Base Camp In Ottawa, got back at about 6Pm. As we were leaving, we witnessed rows of York and Durham PD running parallel to ward the parliament bldgs. I commented that it looked and felt strange, from before today. We all agreed, that some thing was happening, and so it was.It was a raid, where they seized a fuel tanker of gas, and propane bottles. There were snipers on most of the bldgs. This was live a few minutes ago.
All truckers involved, began sing Oh Canada. Many commented, “do they think this will stop them. Earlier, I asked numerous truckers, if they were receiving financial support, many said they did, but they were still out of pocket. I began giving out more 20.00 bills. Then the above happened after we got back to our Air BnB

Day 2 – 02/05/22 – Attended the festivities. It was nothing I could have expected. I expected large crowds. However, I was not prepared to see what I saw.
People were everywhere, I mean everywhere. All of them, smiling and mask less. In places, there was music and crowds so thick I felt like a penguin on ice.
The Ottawa downtown core was jammed, almost completely shut down. There were cars with the wheels taken off and placed on pallets. There was piles of stacked wood and fire pits to warm anybody who needed it, right in the middle of the street, in downtown Ottawa. There were thousands of trucks, cars, and farm tractors, and yes tow truckers, everywhere. More convoys coming in from somewhere? Horns were blaring out, with a deafening intensity. At times, some thing would trigger, a unified blast of horn sounds. The sound combined to herald another convoy entering.
Crowds of people and vehicles, in all directions, as far as you could possibly see.
Do you remember how big and clever the jan 6 ‘insurrectionists’ thought they were on the day? Where are they now?

I can’t understand if most people are being sarcastic, are children, or just incredibly ill informed. Just like in ottawa, if you disrupt anything, it will you that goes without. I hear the money is flowing to the Ottawa and Ontario police forces to arrest many of the truckers. They apparently expect that for every arrest 10 will go home. Seems like another reason to stay and protest. “Free Canada! Release the Truckers!”, will likely be what many of the placards will say nest weekend.
