This often used quote is misleading.
“You’ll own nothing but you’ll be happy”.
This is based on the idea that sheeple actually own stuff, and with basic stuff, we only own these things, because very few sheeple would want them.
The fake news ran a story about sharing your underwear. I’ve never seen underwear on display in charity shops when I drop of my junk (pun intended), but maybe this will become a thing as more sheeple become desperate.
Very few sheeple buy their mobile phone with hard cash up front. Most often it’s on a finance contract, & you only own the phone when the contract ends at which point the phone has lost most of its value. But even then, many things that enable your phone to work are on licenses, so you never own your phone. The only reason why your left alone, is that your phone has built in obsolescence, and it’s not profitable for license owners to rig up more ways to stiff the sheeple.
I perchased Microsoft Word. Apple, an unrelated business decided to change the way they support their systems, so something that I thought I owned, was destroyed by another company by modifying my Apple Macbook Pro. So you buy software that you don’t own.
Most sheeple lease their cars, & very few actually make that final payment. Even then, it says on the vehicle log book (V5), that you are the ‘registered KEEPER”. So you don’t own your car/vehicle.
As to owning your own home, I don’t know the deep legalities on this, but there are sheeple out there who say that no one actually owns their home or land. Maybe others can add their thoughts.
You have money in thr bank, well, possession is nine tenths of the law, so you don’t own your banked money. I doubt you actually own your pension funds, or any other investments.
The regimes only allow inheritance because it helps to support their system. Let’s say you inherit enough to buy a property outright, the chances are that the seller is refinancing for their next home, but even if they down size to free up cash, the regime stands to collect more tax in one year, if that money hasn’t been reinvested in property.
So this idea that we are moving into a system where you’ll own nothing and be happy, is really a staggering piss take on the sheeple, and even those who peddle this tosh in the alternative news. We’ve always had this system. I think what the real meaning of “You’ll own nothing but you’ll be happy” really means, is that you’ll have no freedoms. At the moment, you can chose when and where to travel to (lockdowns accepted), but in the future, you will need to apply for a permit, or a paid booked in advance slot to travel. So you can see that if you’re a typical sheeple with your leased car outside, and you want to go away for the weekend and this weekend is in the Summer holidsys, you go to book your travel slot… your right to drive from A to B on regime selected route, and you’ll be charged depending on what you are able/willing to pay, so your weekend might start at 2am, because either there aren’t any slots, or you simply can’t afford any other times.
This is an example of the current (pun intended) scarcity systems. I can see lottery prizes, win one year unrestricted travel pass… worth, £20k at today’s prices. You won’t even own your own time, because the regime will have priced it in the Internet of things.
Your fridge sends you a shopping list, it might even order the food for delivery, so if every sheeple is doing this, supermarkets can bring in optimal pricing, but they frame this as: ‘you are getting the best deal possible. Of course, if you have the audacity to drive to the shops, then you’ll be booking your slot and being charged based on the’ scarcity model’.
Can’t be long before they bring in a ‘birth tax’, to cover the baby lamb’s environmental burden.
This is what I think they mean by ‘you’ll own nothing’, they’re not on about houses and cars, they are on about pricing every minute of your time, pricing every move you make, pricing your life, and the ‘happy’ bit, well that is subjective. Generally, the thicko sheeple think they are happy, because they know no better.
Not only do you not own anything now, or in the past, but most slave sheeple are upto their eyeballs in debt, and they actually run their day to day lives using debt.
Lockdowns have had one good effect. They’ve given a lot of sheeple time to reflect on their awful lives. If you believe what some are saying, lots of sheeple are leaving their terrible jobs and are opting out of the system. Will this last, or will they return to the shed and trough?

I disagree. The sheeple are so thick, they don’t know when they are being scammed. I don’t think ‘willing’ is the right word.
Every scam needs fear to work. Most scams are money related, the idiots who fall for these scams are motivated by greed. An easy buck, more money. Look at jab fear, oh, if I don’t get jabbed I can’t earn money.
Why do you think builder’s weren’t locked down? Because nearly all their projects are debt based such as mortgages, bank lending & investors. This is beacsue the building/construction game is all debt based, so if you stick a spanner in the works, they go bust very quickly, just look at failed buildings in Spain. I can see the London skyline looking resplendent with half built skyscrapers, not a good look.
