Common sense can often cast doubt on their claims.
Consider that if indeed CO2 elevates temperature via a “green house effect” then that will, all other things being equal, make for a more prolonged and favorable growing season i.e. plants will grow more vigorously and thus absorb more of that elevated levels of CO2. This is precisely why folk have greenhouses because plants grow better and there is a longer growing season.
Warmer temperature longer growing season and more CO2 taken up as biomass.
The establishment will I expect say that it is far more complicated than that, which is true, but that additional complexity serves to perplex both sides to this question.
