China recently conducted a “very concerning” test of a hypersonic weapon system as part of its aggressive advance in space and military technologies, the top U.S. military officer says.
Gen. Mark Milley, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, was the first Pentagon official to confirm on the record the nature of a test this year by the Chinese military that the Financial Times had reported was a nuclear-capable hypersonic weapon that was launched into space and orbited the Earth before re-entering the atmosphere and gliding toward its target in China.
Milley said he could not discuss details because aspects involved classified intelligence. He said the United States also is working on hypersonic weapons, whose key features include flight trajectory, speed and maneuverability that make them capable of evading early warning systems that are part of U.S. missile defenses. The U.S. has not conducted a hypersonic weapon test of the sort Milley said China had achieved.
“What we saw was a very significant event of a test of a hypersonic weapon system, and it is very concerning,” Milley said on “The David Rubenstein Show: Peer-to-Peer Conversations” on Bloomberg Television.
“I think I saw in some of the newspapers, they used the term Sputnik moment,” he added. “I don’t know if it’s quite a Sputnik moment, but I think it’s very close to that. So it’s a very significant technological event that occurred, or test that occurred, by the Chinese. And it has all of our attention.”
The launch of a Sputnik satellite by the Soviet Union in 1957 stunned the world and fed U.S. fears that it was falling behind technologically in an accelerating arms race in the early stages of the nuclear age.
China has disputed Western news reports about its test, saying it was working on technology for a re-useable space vehicle for peaceful purposes.
Some U.S. defense experts say the worry about China’s work on a hypersonic weapon that could deliver a nuclear weapon from space are overblown.
James Acton of the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace wrote in an essay last week that the United States has long been vulnerable to a Chinese nuclear attack.
“While the prospect of a nuclear attack against the United States is terrifying, this is no Sputnik moment — partly because it’s not entirely clear what was tested, but mostly because the threat of a Chinese nuclear attack on the United States isn’t remotely new,” Acton wrote.
In addition to its advances in hypersonic weapons, China has been expanding its network of underground silos that could be used to launch intercontinental-range nuclear missiles, and it has rebuffed U.S. calls to join nuclear arms control talks. The U.S. also has raised concerns about what it calls Chinese efforts to intimidate Taiwan, the self-ruled island that China claims as part of its territory, and to claim disputed islands and other land features in the South China Sea.

Way back in the early eighties during a conversation at work we talked of a potential conflict with Russia which was then the USSR. I mentioned some of the Soviet space advances and Sputnik to suggest that the Russians were a real threat. A Czech immigrant laughed and scoffed at the idea that the Russians put a satellite in space or landed anything on Venus or photographed the dark side of he moon. He said that he knew all about the Soviet union and the Russian people and how they used as cannon fodder against the Germans by the tens of millions. He laughed at the idea that they could survive against an all out war with America.
I don’t believe one tenth of what the Americans tell us about Russia. They certainly never landed anything on Venus or photographed the far side of the moon or ‘walked in space’. The same is true of the U.S. and China. It’s nearly all BS.
About a month ago I watched a RichieFromBoston video where he said that there were things moving in all directions in the night sky and he could see them through his Canon EOS and telephoto lens. I believe he said they were Illumens or angels and that the earth was flat and that what we call planets all gave off their own light and not illuminated by the sun. Believe it or not, I did travel north to a dark sky area above the 40th parallel and spent close to a week looking at the night sky with both astronomical binoculars and a telescope. Indeed there were bright objects, distinct from jet aircraft, moving at high speed in all directions. They were no the familiar “shooting stars” and it took many hours to finally make out any detail on some of them. I only saw them up from within an hour after sunset or before sunrise and could only make out any detain when they were directly overhead. They appear to be balloon satellites with solar panels that look like stubby wings from below. They are too fast, relatively speaking to track with my primitive telescope at high magnification. Some of them can be seen with the proverbial naked eye but astronomy binoculars are the most practical and your neck will get sore unless you have enough money to afford diagonals on the eyepieces. NASA is the world’s largest user of heluim and has launched thousands of balloon satellites. Elon Musk is one of their front men.
With respect to earth being flat, I think that is a well delivered psyop. Venus has phases, Jupiter has moons that cast a shadow on its surface when they transit and the rings of Saturn cast a shadow on its surface as well. Jupiter clearly rotates as does the Sun. So I don’t think the earth is flat but it’s interesting to note that no actual image of the earth from space is available anywhere. We’re supposed to believe that “mankind” sent probes to planets, landed on the moon, put landers on Venus and Mars and never took a picture or video of the Earth from space? NASA admits that that all images and videos of landers and planets are computer generated images or artist’s renditions. So that’s why we have no image of the earth from space. That “pale blue marble” image of Earth “taken by Neil Armstrong” was just a crude photo manipulation. All of the images “taken on the moon” are totally fake and all search engines go to great lengths to maintain the fakery by pretending to “debunk” those who see through the fraud. If you search ‘hoax moon landing’ every search engine will return bombard you with fake debunking articles. Just look at the images of the moon landers that supposedly landed on the moon six times and returned to earth. Those images are enough to prove it was all a hoax:
