  4.  » Sir David Amess dies: Terror police leading probe into MP’s fatal stabbing

Gareth Davies – The Telegraph Oct 15, 2021

  • Man, 25, arrested – police not looking for anyone else

Counter-terror police are leading the investigation into the fatal attack on the Conservative MP Sir David Amess, who was stabbed multiple times at his constituency surgery.

Sir David, the MP for Southend West in Essex, was killed on Friday at Belfairs Methodist Church in Leigh-on-Sea, and a British man of Somalian origin was arrested on suspicion of murder.

Paramedics tried for two hours to save the 69-year-old father-of-five, but he died of his injuries and figures across the political spectrum have paid tribute to the “irreplaceable” MP.

Essex Police said a 25-year-old man was arrested, and officers were not looking for anybody else in connection with the incident.

A witness who described seeing the suspect being taken away by the police – who are still seeking to establish a motive – said he was calm and compliant.

Nearly ten hours after Sir David Amess was stabbed to death and after much media blather about what a “fine parliamentarian” he was, with testimony from friends and fellow politicians, the BBC finally got round to mentioning on its ten’ o’clock news that his killer was a “British man of Somali origin”.

In other words he was a migrant. Although the BBC did not mention how long he had been in the country, or whether he had arrived as a legitimate immigrant, or an asylum seeker or a refugee. Either way, the BBC seemed at pains to play down the killer’s origins.

The whole episode is all too reminiscent of the way it reported the systematic abuse of underage girls in the midlands and north of England.

Then the culprits were overwhelmingly Asian men who preyed upon vulnerable underage white girls. This happened with the connivance of social workers, and the police, who turned a blind eye to the abuse for years to avoid accusations of being “racist”.

However, it’s one thing for the police and social workers who are operating under narrow official dictates and something else for the publicly funded BBC.

Whose guidelines are they following when it comes to reporting on race and crime and why? People are being sexually abused and murdered and the media is obviously now reporting on this in a very selective manner. The police, the media, social workers and above all politicians need to be called to account.

In fact one, Sir David Amess, may have just been summoned by karma. Will others follow?
