Hugo – if you really exist – these “talent shows” were already infantile garbage before this extension of mass-appealing rubbish. Somehow, your video is probably subtly reinforcing this “talent show” crap as desirable or fulfilling, despite your disparaging it.
As to the “fake judge responses” mentioned in the dialogue – come off it! They have probably been faked since the advent of “talent shows” on TV. Auditions? Prepared descriptions of contestants? Leaked details?
Why the reinforcing of shots of minority types, the younger generation, and the audience – specifically the types seemingly most influenced or conned by this stuff? Or the “woke” components of those performers that are somehow supposedly vulnerable ( you mentioned “shy”)? Incidentally, why “The poor sap” backstage? Surely these people are old enough to know about the consequences of their appearances? Questions.
The title ” To Be Yourself Is All You Can Be”, can work for the performers or for the people that won’t buy into this garbage. Is this being deliberately ambiguous?

It started with The Voice, blind auditions and a reference to Frank Sinatra who was called that, and began his career with a bag over his head, then they had a stupid show where famous singers were dressed in puppet-like costumes, to see who could tell it was them, and now this. It is the Simon Cowell associates.
