McFarlane probably believes what he says, like Jim Jefferies, Frankie Boyle, Gervais, Jimmy Carr, Al Murray, Lee Mack, Sean Locke. Comedians are specialists and only need a vague awareness of politics. Boyle seemed to consciously sell out, and we never know exactly what the cynicism-ignorance ratio is.

Who watches this crap? On a completely superficial level, I avoid anything produced anyone named ‘Seth’. Given that I haven’t owned a TV for over twenty years, it’s quite a disturbing spectacle when I have the misfortune of encountering one.

I’ve not watched these “cartoon shows” ever since The Simpsons began, judging it to be subversive on a societal level. The same goes for MTV’s Ren & Stimpy” and all that followed.
People pay good money to watch this? No wonder they have lost so many cable subscribers.
As a child I even had serious doubts about “Woody Woodpecker” and its gratuitous violence.
They go for the kids first . . .

You’d be better off watching ‘The Triumph of the Will’ (1935) to see what a sane white society looks like. Also there’s some good anti-Jewish lines from the movie ‘That Championship Season’ (1999) worth checking out.

I like cartoons, but because they’re so popular and in them anything can happen it was inevitable the totalitarians who need to control everything to become totalitarian, need to control cartoons. But that doesn’t mean all cartoons were bad, or that some of them wouldn’t be turned bad, because as the crushing of humour in the name of offending some prick goes to show, all media and culture can be captured in the end to serve propaganda.
Cartoons are a great way to create a humour that wouldn’t work using real people. Fall 1,000 feet to end up flat as a pancake then shake yourself whole again? That works with Wile E. Coyote but not with Samuel L. Clemens. The nearest they came with real life was The Mask with Jim Carrey, which was particularly good because unlike other live-animations the main character was the cheeky so-and-so, but they’d be hard-pressed to get more than six good films from that idea. The audience would soon tire.
