Five years ago, I lost my cheerful, vivacious, talented life partner to heart failure. Diagnosed at 40, deceased at 44. In between, doctors prescribed lots of meds, performed a few angiograms, installed stents… All to no avail. And in fact, 4-5 years is pretty much the maximum a typical patient with heart failure can expect to live. (It can be 8 years, but also 1 year.)
Watching this video, the second the doctor said “shortness of breath [SOB]”, I thought to myself, “heart failure”… And yes, that’s what it is – and he estimates these folks to be gone with 3 years.
At this time, nearly everyone I know, down to the 20-somethings, has had at least one jab. I am totally numb emotionally, and just curious to see what happens, more than anything else.
