Although a citizen, I cannot return to my country of 70-years unless I accept experimental gene therapy & absurd hotel ($3000) & home quarantines for a virus I do not have, has no symptoms and may not even exist.
Mexico’s narco violence has served a useful purpose: to keep foreigners out of what is a pretty good place to live, especially in today’s world.

I have been here only a few months so I don’t claim to be an expert.
Mexico is a second world country. It combines the comforts of the first world (if you have some dinero) with the charm of the third world. I now live in a town like Aspen Colorado, surrounded by hills, except cheaper, no snow and more Mexicans.
Here are ten things I like and three things I don’t like, in no particular order.
1) Fruit and vegetables are plentiful, cheap and garden fresh. Limes, pomegranates, tangerines and avocados grow in peoples’ yards. There is a large variety of exotic birds and animals, trees and cacti.

I had a stay in the Faeroe Islands, on the way to Iceland.
It was an eye opener.
It’s ‘all them’. It works, the remote communities made me wonder how it all functioned.
That didn’t matter, The young kids were just that. & seemingly more than happy.

I rode past Malmo some weeks later! There was something about the place. KEEP MOVING. Trelleborg was better. but the declining ‘days ahead’ were evident.

I’m going to bet as the exodus REALLY begins, Mexico might just close its doors. For awhile now, I have made plans with a Mexican friend to smuggle me INTO Mexico should this happen.
He rather enjoys the idea of being a coyote for a White guy trying to ‘cross the border – the other way’.
Books are usually not difficult to come by, if you talk to the right people, they will get you more than you can read or wish to read. If you visit tourist trap eateries or bars, you could ask management to post a sign of your request for book donations. Or talk to the girls who clean rooms in hotels, books are just discarded. I had a good friend in Costa Rica who had collected some six thousand books in that fashion; he shared his books with the expats who missed American libraries, and the freedom to barrow o buy a book. Who knows, you might enjoy the activity, and do your fellowman a service if you start something like that. One suggestion, always display a maple leaf while you are in a foreign country, it will keep the bedbugs away.
Good for Henry, if you are not to close to central america you will be alright. Curious to know how he solves the canna problem or copes with it.
From this same age Canadian to you Henry, glad to see you have at least some good life in Mexico. Canada under Trudeau, and before him, Harper and Mulroney, have made a multicultural mess of Canada that had been doing just fine before massive third world immigration meant to replace the country’s founding people and their descendants. A truly Zionist Global enterprise with Trudeau lapping it up. Trudeau is all in for global vaccination passports and leaving it up to the provinces for their own decisions about Covid/vaccination certificates to travel in-country. You just know most will comply. That would mean my Wife and I would never be able to leave Ontario. Tyranny is really catching on here. Not a day goes by without the media pushing the Covid jab for everyone. Glad to read most of your articles, only disagreeing with some of your WW2 posts.
