The largest vessel operated by the Iranian Navy, the IRIS Kharg, caught fire and sank in the Gulf of Oman. The logistical and training ship was on fire for around 20 hours before finally sinking off the southern port of Jask.
The ship, which was the largest in terms of tonnage operated by the Navy, sank early Wednesday, Iranian media reported, citing the Navy’s second maritime zone in Jask.
“All efforts to save the vessel were unsuccessful and it sank,” Iran’s semi-official Fars News Agency said.
The Kharg caught fire on Tuesday, and the blaze raged for around 20 hours before the vessel sank. All crew members reportedly disembarked from the burning vessel, with no information on potential casualties immediately available.
Footage circulating online purportedly shows the vessel at sea with open flames visible on the stern.

The burning ship emitted a large plume of smoke visible from the Iranian coast, another video shows.

The Kharg was a large British-built fleet replenishment tanker, which was used by the Iranian Navy since the early 1980s. The blaze hit the vessel during a “training naval operation,” and the cause of the fire has yet to be determined. The ship had light armament and was capable of carrying three helicopters on board, one on the helipad and two more stashed in hangars.
The fire is the latest in the series of incidents that have plagued Iranian vessels over the past few months. In early April, the Iranian cargo vessel MV Saviz, anchored off Yemen in the Red Sea, came under attack, sustaining “minor damage.” According to Iranian authorities, the vessel has been used as a logistics hub for anti-piracy operations in the region.

Looks like sabotage. CIA at work.
Notice all these Arab-Muslim states are only allowed to possess obsolescent discarded military equipment from the last century, but Israel gets the newest tanks, ships, jets etc from the USA every year.
The loss of Kharg is devastating for the navy. She was the only ocean-going logistics ship of the IRIN. Without Kharg, the navy can’t properly support its vessels on long deployments or in wartime. Worse, there is no replacement in sight. It was said to be caused by an electrical fire.
This could be the work of enemy no doubt… however don’t forget not long ago what happened in US:
Two other Navy ships caught fire >just days< after the USS Bonhomme Richard inferno
https://taskandpurpose.com/news/bonhomme-richard-kearsarge-john-f-kennedy-fires/
Note that the Slogan of USS Bonhomme was "I have not yet begun to fight", and it was just at the end of its upgrades to carry F35b; General Dynamics was awarded to do the upgrades for about 219 million dollars. So a very symbolic target, and yet just days after that two other US navy ships caught fire!
Back then IRGCs general Qa'ani who replaced Qassem Suleimani said in an interview that opposition groups in US carried out operations in the Hot Summer including the USS Bonhomme!

Conclusion:
It is another Cold War and Iran is not some pathetic small country the can't hit back and is only on the receiving end.
Furthermore the era of classic large aircraft carriers has come to an end and US too is going for Multi-Purpose "oil tanker" ships that can carry drones. Yes manned fighter jest too are becoming a thing of the past. The sad thing for US is that they are too on the developing stage so technically not much more advanced comparing to their enemies.
Just recently General Mackenzie of USCENTCOM said, US forces no longer have Air Dominance Superiority in the region and he is more worried about medium and small sized drones.
What is an Aryan country doing with Semitic-religion leadership?
@L jones…its not an Aryan country anymore, but a ‘nation’ of mongrels..
