A law in San Francisco that legalizes shoplifting of up to $950 worth of goods has caused the closure of stores all across downtown because of the massive loss they have suffered to shoplifters.
In their “wisdom,” the City Council passed Prop 47, an ordinance that prevents police officers from arresting or even stopping anyone who steals less than $950 worth of goods.
Unsurprisingly, the new city law spurred the growth of organized gangs of thieves who gather together and run into a store as a group to grab everything they can carry knowing full well that neither the police, nor the store owners, can do a thing to stop them.
Now, stores such as Walgreens, CVS, and convenience store chains, are closing dozens of locations in the city because their product loss rate has climbed more than 100 percent.
Walgreens, for one, has closed 17 locations in the last few years — approaching half of its San Francisco outlets. And CVS is also closing locations.
CVS supervisor Ahsha Safaí recently told the San Francisco Chronicle that the theft is completely out of control and local residents are afraid to even enter the store because of the gangs roaming the aisles.
“This has been uncontrolled,” Safaí said. “Individuals are scared to enter these shops — seniors, folks with disabilities, kids. It’s simply taking place overtly. We are able to’t simply as a metropolis throw up our arms and say that is OK. We now have to provide you with options.”
CVS also revealed just how lopsided the theft is in the city: “At CVS, 42% of losses within the Bay Space got here from 12 shops in San Francisco, that are solely 8% of the market share, Brendan Dugan, director of organized retail crime and company investigations, stated on the listening to.”
This hits vulnerable elderly residents the most, the media notes. After all, these stores are also pharmacies and when these locations close, so do their pharmacies. This leaves elderly patients unable to get their life-saving prescriptions filled.
It also hurts people who don’t have cars because instead of being able to walk down to the corner store, they now have to travel several miles to find a place to shop.
Once again, we see that Democrats care more about criminals than they do the taxpayers and the average citizen.
Thanks Democrats.

Democrats care more about criminals….you mean black criminals!
I live in California, San Francisco passed the law back in 2014, since then the law has inspired criminals, drug addicts, homeless people, gangs and teenagers to steal from stores throughout California.
Organized Crime gangs ,including from other states and other countries such as Mexico make a huge amount of money throughout California with shoplifting.
The San Francisco Police Department reports stealing has become an epidemic not seen in San Francisco prior to the passing of the proposition.
In 2020 the voters of California rejected Proposition 20, if passed, the proposition reversed portions of Proposition 47. It would have provided prosecutors the ability to go back to the days of charging low-level crimes as felonies, especially those involving petty theft.
If people complain about the crimes on Twitter, they’re probably going to get the raging racist thunder and get cancel cultured.
The liberals who encourage shoplifting (numerous ways to justify it) destroy anybody who mentions all lives matter. Oh well.
Jews always make sure to feed the parasites. Good people do not steal even if they can get away with it. Jews not only steal but defend that way of life, from usury to shop-lifting, with any kind of corruption in between. They are the criminal gang that reached the top levels of society. The crime is defended all the way along because even if they “collapse” the whole society they can say it was just a goy society in the first place.
Another insane and destructive ruling from an obviously totally rigged electoral and voting system controlled by nihilistic drag queens. If shoplifting was getting to be an enforcement problem like drugs with the city leaders saying they can no longer protect the people and their basic rights, then instead of abandoning law enforcement and letting chaos reign, any straight and level-headed city leaders would use the cops to round up all of these perps and send them off to the federal FEMA camps where they can get all of the free stuff they need and stop all of the crime. Otherwise, just step up the deterrent locally doing whatever it takes.
Again, this is not law, but legislation which only takes the force of law through the consent of the governed.
‘Thou shalt not steal’ very much is law. Its God’s law/common law/universal law/law of the land. The people of San Francisco suffer because of their own ignorance.
The state body responsible for creating this insanity has broken the law. The police who enforce this are breaking the law. This is tyranny in action and Americans need to start enforcing their amendment rights and common law.
Taking something, from another, without their permission, is theft regardless whether it costs 1 cents or $1million.
@chris, you half-witted xxxxx. I suppose whites are never criminals, contrary to your backwardness, the democrats also care about white criminals as well.
Who are these cowards and imbeciles who allow these “elected” xxxx-for-brains xxxholes pass such anti-laws?!
Everywhere, we have to suffer through dumb and dumber, but Kalifornia has got to be the dumbest of them all!
Mirror Mirror on the wall: who’s the dumbest of them all?
Why it’s President Goe BuyDem!
This dimwitted sack of talking garbage is the perfect representative for a mass of brain dead “authority” worshipers. These believers gobble up anything the Lord, Ratchild, says through his apostles, Bullstream Media.
Brain addled traitor to truth and decency, Goe BuyDem, is the perfect hood ornament for this old jalopy they call “government”. In reality, it’s a dictatorial military junta run by the most idiotic bunch of megalomaniacal , conceited and wasteful xxxxheads you could ever imagine outside of israhel.

Is it merely a theorem? or is it an axiom? An immutable LAW of physics perhaps?

I forgot to mention:
Who benefits?
Online retailers with no walk-in stores such as Amazon. But then most companies now offer home delivery for goods. What this is really about is bringing in the cashless society. You pay, online, via card. Hasta la vista cash.
@ FRED B
NO ! the FEMA camps are not for black criminals !
THEY ARE FOR YOU DECENT WHITE PEOPLE.
did you think otherwise ? demorats, jews ,freemasons
will put you patriots as terrorists into the camps. guiliotines
waiting ! ALWAYS REMEMBER RUSSIA 1917-53 !
Something similar happened in Britain years ago. Police forces all decided (simultaneously, which is always a clue), that the theft of items under the value of £100 doesn’t merit police attention. Effectively theft has been legalised.
I have only just seen that “the Law of the Land” has two meanings. The one I never noticed means “not the Law of the sea”, this Admiralty Law Jordan Maxwell kept explaining about, and which Welef discusses. My mind hardly computes it because even animals know when they are being little xxxtards.
Shoplifting is theft and theft is a crime. It’s not only a crime, it;s inherently immoral. Yet those deranged imbeciles in that open dumpster known as San Franshitsco declared it okay to steal anything in a store that isn’t nailed down?!? Bloody insane.
When you legalize the grossly illegal and immoral, then that society is as good as destroyed.
White Elephant makes an excellent point in his comment a couple above; the online retailers benefit from such deranged and depraved acts. Cui bono, indeed.
San Franciscans will just have to shop online or in Oakland or Sausalito etc. There may be an opportunity for Soviet style stores with everything on display behind the counter (but now behind bulletproof glass), the customer tells the clerk what they want to buy, pays in advance, and then receives the goods.
If hyperinflation occurs, then $950 will become a trivial amount, and the law will become irrelevant, unless the $ amount is adjusted.
