News Commentary – April 20, 2021

The situation in Ukraine has the potential to spiral dangerously out of control. Russia is in the process of deploying warships, aircraft and up to 150,000 troops near its border with its neighbour and longtime partner.

While the U.S. has been vocal in its support for Kiev, the Russian build-up seems to have prompted second thoughts.

As Russia’s military build-up gained pace the U.S. cancelled the scheduled deployment of two U.S. Navy warships to the Black Sea, in what would have been a show of support for Kiev.

So following the cancellation, Britain stepped in.

According to the Daily Mail:

“The UK has offered to send two warships to the Black Sea as a warning to Putin, according to leaked documents, after the US cancelled the deployment of two of its own vessels to the region.

“One Type 45 destroyer armed with anti-aircraft missiles and an anti-submarine Type 23 frigate will leave the Royal Navy’s carrier task group in the Mediterranean and head through the Bosphorus into the Black Sea, according to the report.

“RAF F-35B Lightning stealth jets and Merlin submarine-hunting helicopters will stand ready on the task group’s flag ship, the carrier HMS Queen Elizabeth, to support the warships in the Black Sea, the report added.

“While the Ministry of Defence insists the pre-planned deployment is routine, it comes at a time of heightened fears of conflict between Russia and Ukraine which has seen a build-up of Russian troops along the border and clashes in eastern Ukraine between the army and pro-Russian separatists.

“UK defence chiefs have also confirmed that six Royal Air Force Typhoon super-jets will fly to eastern Europe as part of another pre-planned mission.

“The Typhoons will be supported by troops from the RAF’s No1 Expeditionary Logistics Squadron and No2 Mechanical Transport Squadron. They are deploying from bases in the UK this week and will police the skies around the Black Sea.

“A ministry spokesman told the Sunday Times that the UK government was working closely with Ukraine to monitor the situation and continued to call on Russia to de-escalate.

“’The UK and our international allies are unwavering in our support for Ukraine’s sovereignty and territorial integrity’, the newspaper quoted the spokesman as saying.”

We don’t think Putin would be particularly concerned about the military deployment if it was just Britain alone. Unfortunately though it’s not. According to Russia’s Defence Minister Sergei Shogui, NATO is deploying 40,000 troops near Russia’s border, largely in the Black Sea and Baltic regions.

For Russia this is ominously reminiscent of the build-up to Operation Barbarossa, Hitler’s WWII invasion of Russia.

The deployment of so many troops suggests that something is in the works. One way or another the West wants Putin removed from power and he knows that. He’s too popular for the West to foment a colour revolution in Russia, so the West’s options are limited.

As Israel Shamir pointed out in a recent interview:

“Putin remembers the fate of Saddam and Gadhafi. He’s not going to throw in the towel and back down. He’s not going to give up or give in.” (Source)

This is why the situation is so dangerous and why the West may be heading for war with Russia.

Nor is this as alarmist as it may sound. After all, it fits in perfectly with the elite’s plans for a “great reset” that would precipitate massive depopulation, which is what such a war would bring. Moreover, if war does ensue Russia won’t be alone. We suspect that if the worst comes to the worst it will only be matter of time before Iran, and maybe China falls in alongside Moscow.

Finally, I realise that this is speculative but foremost among the elite’s concerns is ‘over-population’. As far as they are concerned there are simply too many people, occupying too much valuable real estate, which they consider essentially their own private property.

In the elite’s eyes there are simply too many “useless eaters”. War with Russia, and maybe Iran and China too, would effectively solve that problem without all the rigmarole of fake pandemics, face masks and lockdowns.
