For a change of pace, I am posting a movie review.
“The Woodsman” (2004) is a deft portrait of a man, (Kevin Bacon) who served 12 years in prison for molesting tweenage girls. He overcomes ostracism and temptation in order to reform. This is not a defence of pedophiles. He beats one up. It is an intelligent, courageous portrait of a man who is struggling with temptation. “Let he who is without sin, cast the first stone…” (John 8:7)

Roger Ebert–“This is not a morality play but a study of Walter’s character, and of those who instinctively detest him, and of a few, including Vickie and his brother-in-law Carlos (Benjamin Bratt), who are willing to withhold judgment long enough to see if he can find redemption.”
The movie harkens back to the Pre-Covid era when we were free to sin, and repent without being branded and bridled like cattle and horses. To a time when movies could be independent and honest.
“Powerful Woodsman Broaches Uncomfortable Topic”

For the first several scenes of “The Woodsman,” we know that Walter has recently been released from prison but we don’t know the nature of his crime. Seeing the film at Cannes last May, I walked in without advance knowledge and was grateful that I had an opportunity to see Kevin Bacon establish the character before that information was supplied. His crime has now been clearly named in virtually everything written about the film, and possibly changes the way it affects a viewer.
Jesus can and will forgive all sins if a person would ask Him for forgiveness. He commands us to repent, and then to go and sin no more. This is possible after one’s salvation by reading the Bible and following and obeying God’s commands. But a forgiven person needs to stay away from temptation. A forgiven drunk or drug addict should avoid bars and dope dens. A forgiven pedophile should avoid children. And there is more than enough power in God’s Word to help everyone who wants to be helped to live an overcoming life. 1 Corinthians 10:13 states “There has no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not permit you to be tempted above that you are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that you may be able to bear it.”
I do wonder about Makow sometimes.
Makov does what David Icke does; he takes Nazi insights and puts a spin on them so that the reader is blaming not Jews but a small sector of them, or some “fake” Jews like Arthur Koestler and Benjamin Freedman did with their Khazar talk. Yet he never stops obsessing over money and sex.
Pedophiles can’t be rehabilitated. That’s the problem with them. The only good pedo is a dead one. Pedo apologists should get the rope, too. There is no place in any decent society for people who lust after children. Doesn’t matter whether we are talking full pedophilia or (splitting hairs as pedos are wont to do) hebephilia or ephebophilia. Any adult looking to use children for their own sexual gratification is a waste of oxygen.
Perhaps God can forgive them, but we should arrange for them to argue their case at the Pearly Gates as quickly as possible.
